2025 NHK Trophy Pairs Short Program

Mystified why Sui & Han again seem to have been held up here—but why the Shibutanis, also returning Olympic medalists, did not seem to get the same treatment.

Yes, different disciplines I know, but if anything, desired results seem easier and more frequent to achieve in dance than they do in pairs

Oh, look at the manipulation of the scoring in the protocols. P/S mysteriously get lower GOE, only 0.10, on their final combination spin that I didn’t catch an error watching in real time, yet S/H’s labored lift that I saw in real time gets higher GOE, 0.90. Very fishy!

I am with you on the SH lift... but the Hungarians spins drifted apart if I recall correctly.

I am not happy with the judging in general here but it will come down to one element again in the LP. Who can land the sequence will win

Okay, makes sense. Give P/S their 0.10 in GOE on the spin combo, but all judges need to give S/H -1 and -2 on their lift.

I am really curious with an OGM and injuries why Sui and Han came back. I understand the Federation played a role but I wonder how much? I guess i like their skating so much I can't really take them "struggling" so much. Ihonestly think they are being held up. The competition here is very ho hum compared to the other GP events. The Americans in fourth look like thejudges want to give them the poins even with the error. Without it they would be even higher. Still Sui and Han could win her and go to the GP finals. Sad about the French after it appears earning an olympic berth who knows now.

I really enjoyed that competition in general. Klimov is doing good work with his teams. S/H improved quite a bit already, the young Japanese team had tons of energy, P/S were fast and sharp, S/M presented their program from the very start, and the Americans skated well despite mistakes.

They deserved the first place. Not held up

Emily and Spencer were such a formidable pair a few years back. It seems that injury has set them back and retaining their once strong performance is a hard battle. Emily, in particular, just doesn't seem to have the confidence. It appears that Alisa/Misha and Ellie/Danny are the 1-2 pairs for the US
