I can't be objective about Carolina, because she was my first skating crush, and the skater that got me into this sport. So, it is good to hear somebody else thinks it.

Well, you can have your own opinions but Ryuichi is definitely involved in the skating. His intensity is easily perceivable . Maybe it's because I have seen him skate live. They both are very present and fill the ice.

What in the world?! I wake up to find that H/V barely won over E/M? What the hell?! That’s an extremely surprising result! I’ll have to catch the replay, but I see H/V had a fall on SBS 3S and lost levels on several elements, such as the death spiral and group 5 lift and they didn’t get full credit for the spin. Bless! They are worrying me, but I will try to calm myself down with the narrative that they are pacing themselves to peak for Europeans, Olympics and Worlds.

As for E/M, did they just skate their Nationals FS or Worlds FS at Finlandia Trophy? And there’s no -GOE on the SBS jumps, so somehow Alisa got through them?! Again, shocking! They are usually good for one skate like that a season, so we’ll see what happens in upcoming events.

Not the best event but imho it was a lot better than last week. At least the top three teams were all very good here if not perfect. Nice to see Efimova landing her jumps and Ellie landing her throws... Better skate for the Germans....

🇵🇱 Ioulia Chtchetinina / Michal Wozniak #FinlandiaTrophy It was all little shaky on all the elements. The focus started shifting, we went from doing everything from 100% to 80%, including some common mistakes, so it’s kind of everything together. We lost points.

G/A: My heart This FS was the worst skate I have seen from them in a long time. It’s a really tight schedule between this event, Nationals, and Europeans, along with the pressure of wanting to make an Olympic team at home. They REALLY need to regroup for Italian Nationals!

Oh no, P/M’s freak fall freaked me out! Another really rough FS outing for this team! Now do they potentially risk not being selected as Canadian pair #2 for the Olympic spot? They have not medaled on the GP this season, but L/E did just that last week at SkAm. That makes Canadian Nationals for the pairs very interesting!

LOL, Mark says E/M are not trying to portray Katia and Sergei. Well, that’s obvious; they could never and no other pair dare could. Katia and Sergei were extremely engaging as performers and they meshed that with a style that was so clean, joyful and ethereal.

Misha nearly lost his footing during the Axel lasso lift and I nearly lost my breath as a result.

I cannot comprehend how those throw landings from Kam don’t result in a serious injury for her; they are scary as hell!

Also, can we just get rid of the jump sequences for the pairs? Bring back the solo SBS triple and the SBS triple+double combination jumps. These pairs are not technically skilled enough to consistently attempt triple+2A+2A sequence.
