Yay, a redemption skate, exempting that a silly error with the opening combo! Maddie was just a little far forwards and elected to skip the combo entirely, she was thinking about adding it on the last 2A but made the same error as with the lutz. This was a lower BV than normal but it worked well for ensuring she had a mostly clean skate. She seemed really checked out of the program at the beginning; she was clearly focused on getting the technical elements done, but there was some really nice expression in the steps and choreo sequence.

Maddie looked surprised to land the 3LZ - wisely left off the combo and is adding up the points with successful jumps. Very much a step in the right direction to give her momentum . Breathe and tell yourself - that's more like it. So proud of her for working through a difficult stretch. Something to build on. No matter what else happens, she can be proud of herself right now.

Shiryaeva knocking off the jumps, but very ponderos across the ice. Edges really weak, and doesn't really get into her knees at all.

Still, clean program. Good for her.
