SP: 72.29 (1st)

A strong skate from Mone; she seemed to be having a lot of fun in this program and is really letting loose with the choreography. There are a lot of "wow" moments, I love the twizzles in the steps and the held outside edge on her axel. The jumps weren't quite at her best, they were a bit tight but still strong. Her stroking seemed a bit off, I wonder if she's struggling to adjust to the rink size and is having to change up her patterns.

I find Mone to be so polished. From the start of the program the choreo lets you know that she knows what she's doing. The program is not as fresh as it was last year but it will still play well at the Olympics.

Mone's execution of this program has improved a lot. She's usually so impressive but boring to me. This was good. I do wonder what they will do with the 2A and the 3Lz which seemed under to me.

Chiba clean! She was flying on the steps; I starting getting afraid that she’ll lose control and fall. I’m not sure about the new dress but at least it’s not pastel.

Did Madeline skate to "Stumbled Beginnings"?

Noticed this title and figured that doesn’t bode well in skating before realizing it was Black Swan. My issue with the program is that she has issues with her posture and having a ballet program seems to accentuate that. Also after the first fall, she had one expression only (angry eyebrows) during the whole performance. Beautiful costume though.

With Keegan.

Please tell me Keegan has more than one event. LOve his skating. He is so entertaining. THis is so depressing for fans of Canadian skating. Schizas is done it looks like. She has not grown, developed or gotten better in this quadrennial. And while no superstars SMD, Ruiter or someone else will take the reigns. She has not had a brilliant skate in a long time - Okay to be fair worlds sp was good but whether it is the pressure of the olympic season she is not doing very well. Good for Lara and making a strong claim for the italian spot. I wouldnt be very excited by any of th eCanadian ladies with due respect. I hope Schizas comes back super big but considering her last few skates have not gone super well I think that may be i t for her.
