A real shame about the aborted lift, but there were so many things to be proud of. Lots of potential. They make me smile.

This team is still super young - they just came out of juniors last season - but they carry themselves with remarkable poise, and held up so admirably under the pressure. They, too, have a really great twist, and are well-matched. I think they seemed a little tired in the second half of the free skate, but juniors has one less lift and a shorter free than seniors so it's normally a struggle for the juniors when they move up. I think they will be stars moving forwards - they have a really strong base.

Naomi/Lachlan. I love their outfits. Great program. A mistake at the end, but it was a wonderful skate.

He's got boot problems and is apparently in quite a bit of pain. They also can only compete domestically due to age. Until next season. Therefore a lot of what they do is travel around the country and skate in ice shows from what I can determine from their SM. They were never able to compete internationally as juniors nor seniors due to age rules. They won the US Junior championship their first year together. Then they started competing domestically as seniors. I know it's been a long and frustrating road.

i knew about their situation (age difference) but if they cannot compete, why not get triples ? I am just wondering if they will get out without them in seniors...

I know Naomi and Lachlan had that lift issues, but I really enjoyed that program. And I think they handled it really well. I'm hoping they, Ellie and Timmy, and Nica and Mark will get some international assignments next season.

This was a really good skate from this team. They've been stuck in intermediate age hell for a few years now, but they're finally able to move up to seniors next season. They seem to have a great connection with each other, and they have some really strong elements - their twist is great, and Timmy did well to maintain speed throughout the first lift. Obviously, moving forwards, they will look to improve their SBS jump BV, the throws are still a work in progress, and I think stamina is a bit of an issue right now, but this team has a very strong foundation coming out of juniors and moving towards their senior career.

Funding will help, too.

This was definitely a tough skate for this team - none of the elements seemed easy tonight. I did love some of the choreography - that decision to have them split up and then come together for the pairs spin was really brilliant, and Isabelle is a great performer. Unfortunately, they had a lot of really costly mistakes on some very high-point elements.

That was rough. But, I always love their spins. Some of them best SBS and pairs spins in the World IMHO. Their twist is always iffy but their throws and lifts can be so beautiful.
