How long do you think this will last? I see the supposed ending time but there are only 19 pairs and it doesn’t seem possible it would take so long. I told Gary this was the most important comp of the season and he was just going to have to wait at the bus stop until it was over

With Gabby being new to pairs, this team has improved so quickly - their matching is solid for a new team, and the singles elements are quite strong. It's a shame about the death spiral - that is a huge loss of points, hopefully it'll get a level after review. They still have a few areas to clean up, especially with drifting apart during the steps and spins, but that was a really solid first outing at Worlds for a new team.

I think Gaby is more suited to pairs than to singles. It is a shame for Austria that the Olympics aren't a year later - they have two promising senior pairs but neither is ready yet. I don't think they will qualify.

They weren't able to make the qualifying TES score for Skate Canada Challenge at Quebec Sectionals (which they needed to qualify for Nationals), she announced what looked like her retirement at the time after that. Thierry Ferland was briefly on the Patinage Quebec lists with a new partner, but they never competed together.

She has been all season. Before that she was briefly a pairs skater representing Canada. She hasn't represented the US for a while now.

I saw them compete together and they were quite bad (especially her). I think they were too close in size to be successful.

There's a maximum of 4 pairs per warm-up though, so the same number of warm-ups and ice resurfacings. It's not quite as long as the women's event, but longer than a singles event with the same entry number would be.
