This was a bit of a mixed bag for the Kovalevs - losing the SBS BV will hurt - but they seemed to be having a lot of fun with this program and I love the sharp, punchy choreography.

Lots of fight from the Kovalevs. I really do enjoy pairs without the normal height distance. He's so strong despite his thin build.

I think the Polish team made it to the Free. But the Kovalevs will likely be at the Olympics one way or another, as France is very, very likely going to qualify at least one spot in all three of the other disciplines, and they'll get to bring a pairs team for the team event.

but I wasn't finished with my stir-fry
Once it was finished, it turned out great
to eat while watching other pairs skate!

They're trying their best. I think they reworked the technique this season as it has always been their weakest element.
I hope Stasya gets citizenship in place for the Olympics, if she doesn't already have it.
