Lots of good performances and clearly everyone had a great time! As always, many skaters admitted they were tired after a long season.

What were your favorite moments? Who do you think had the most festive box? What or who surprised you the most? Which programs were the highlights for you?

I didn't get to watch in real time, but just looking at the protocols, I have to applaud Jason Brown's work. He placed within a couple of points of Adam SHF with two quads and he outscored 9 skaters who presented quads, some with rwo.

From this morning my thoughts were Alyssa peaking at right time, Kaori good at emergency improvising, poor Amber peaked too early and WTF happened to Mone's 2A. Lol

i still fee Chock and Bates are over scored but i think Piper and Paul maybe realize its over. I remember Brian Orser aftterr he lost to Brian Boitano at the olympics he jus sort of gave up that he would ever beat him. Psquared look defeated. Even though CB are overrated they deserve to be first but not by as much (not that it matters in WTT results. Its the placement. Canada's singles skating et them down as per usual. Usa soid. Sorry for Amber but Allysa has no issue being the world champ. Illia just ooks unstoppable.

I'm never putting pineapple on pizza again. Nice pizza decor in the Italy box. I loved the twirling umbrellas revealing Yuma and his Dad before his short program score in the Japan kiss and cry box and Kaori wearing that crazy wig. I loved the opening ceremonies and the impromptu baseball by Team USA, so fun. The bear onesie on the Canadian skater lol. Haven't seen all of the ladies short program, so only commenting on the country kiss and cry boxes decor for now.

I hope he will get his place in history of figure skating and I can't get to watch his skating enough, he is so impressive. If Ilia gets PCS over 9, he and Kevin should get maybe 11 and Adam and Yuma slightly above 10. I mean if you fake it at fun event, fake it equally for them all.

Ice dance is something I will watch and I will be bitter about the scoring.

I don't agree with Ilia's such high PCS it should be a couple points ahead of Egadze rather than a couple points ahead of Brown.

Nastya was great in the women's she rotated all her landings, while the other top women struggled.

I thought Liu should have got hit with an underrotation on the 3T but they some how missed it again (a q would have been acceptable I suppose if it was a very lenient panel). That's three programs now going back to the start of World's with big problems with many landings but nothing dinged.

Also poor Amber seems to have the twisties lately. She has regressed rapidly since early in the year. The US fed have been big on pushing other skaters as the face of the Olympics, I wonder if these little things peck away at her confidence.

I'm sorry but I get a little irritated when someone posts slow motion still shots to prove a point. The judges have to make very quick decisions and do the best they can. I expect you could do this with almost any skater and find where something was missed. As long as humans are judging this is going to happen. End of chronic rant!

This has been a fun competition so far and I love seeing the friendships and team work in the countries. They do look like they're having a lot of fun and being supportive of their teammates. Being tired is kind of a lame excuse because ALL of them have had a long season with a lot of intra-country travel. I don't know what's going on with Amber other than reverting to her inconsistent history, but she buries herself when she attempts the 3Axel in her short. Wouldn't it be better to skate clean and not be so far behind going in to the free? I love Piper and Paul's rhythm dance and honestly think they're the most entertaining. I don't know enough about the intricacies of ice dance to say whether they're underscored or Maddie and Evan are overscored. But I do enjoy watching them. Ilia didn't have the best skate but he was still way better than the rest of the field. Jason was wonderful. Just goes to show that great skating can still win out over quads and poor skating. I do think Adam SHF is still recovering from his injury and will be a force to be reckoned with next year.

We should have a new rule. Anyone who obsessively posts pictures for the purpose of tearing down figure skaters should also have to post pictures of themselves skating.

Haha, I even have pictures and videos of myself skating, but sorry not for here (I have no intention of being torn down down). Luckily I don't obsessively post pictures of any skaters. What they do, I can't!

The funny thing about figure skating is that you can disagree with the scoring, yet still enjoy watching the skaters. Even though I think Kaori and Alysa are often over scored, they are both very good performers and I enjoy watching them skate. I can always do my own medal ceremony afterwards, with extra refreshments. But I don't think there is anything wrong with voicing your opinion on the scoring either. I skip over many posts if Im not interested in the topic.

Well Alyssa, Maddie and Evan, Ilya and the on Day 2 we see all the world champions really dominating and getting great scores. I just don't think Piper and Paul should be so far behind. The confidence of winnning a world title really seems to help these skaters and with Jason doing so well and others not doing so well USA is unbeatable. Domination.Japan is a bit of a disappointment in men.. Georgia did well especially the lady. Canada continues slighly below mediocrity.

Someone will ALWAYS disagree with the scoring. My take on it is if you know so much better than the judges than go to judge school or whatever it takes to become a judge. It's easy when you're sitting in front of your television and can rewind and replay to your heart's content and pick apart this and that. But sit rink side and have a program over in 3-4 minutes and always get it "right" in everyone's mind is a whole different ballgame (oops-different sport) Yes there are technical callers and for the most part I think they do a good job. I guess I just get tired of reading the judges were wrong, someone was overscored, underscored, that jump was UR'ed, home ice advantage, etc etc, etc. ad nauseum. It is what it is. I just enjoy watching figure skating and I can appreciate what I consider a good skate no matter what country is represented. What I find enjoyable and beautiful and pleasing isn't necessarily the most technical or whatever......I really don't care.

If I don't post proof I would be accused of making things up. No-one can accuse me of making it up. The tech panel got it wrong again.

I can post some screenshots from World's of Liu's landings that are underrotated. There is a clear agenda. Liu is a skater known for her trouble rotating her jumps, but they missed every cheated landing since the start of World's.

These are the best judges on Earth, who are able to review suspect jumps. I just don't buy that every single time they will ding someone like Samodelkina, Pinzaronne, Gubanova for the slightest of flaws, but miss EVERY blatant mistake from other skaters.

It's clearly on purpose.

What are your thoughts on Day 2? What or who surprised you the most? Which programs were the highlights for you?

This was such a fun competition. At the end of the day it is still a competition, but skaters can relax a bit more than during 'ordinary' ones. I was pleased the Japanese ID team had a better outing than on day1, it surprised me Diana and Gleb got more points than Evghenia and Geoffrey, it pleased me to see Madison/Evan and Piper/Paul end very close. The pairs skated as expected, which is a pity as I would have liked to see Camille/Pavel show they can do better than at Worlds. Riku and Ruichi were sublime (as was reflected in the points) as they have shown the whole year with this SP. Let's hope they will continue that tomorrow (today) in the FS. Sara and Niccolo did well too. A pity Deanna and Max struggled a bit. Alisa and Misha did well, while I was happy to see Anastasia and Luka doing an earlier programme (executed very well).

The men? What can I say? Jason was excellent, I was happy to see Daniel showing a bit of his former form (of some years ago), Ilia is -even with mistakes - ahead of the rest (though the two USA men were relatively close as nrs. 1 and 2). Adam really was tired and fell back from yesterday (the FS demanding more of anyone's stamina) but It made me happy to see Kevin not falling apart because of some mistakes at the beginning. Yuma also seems te be tired, while Shun shon (despite feeling under the water). Happy seeig Roman nailing het 4s-eu-3s. Nicolaj did better than in the SP. Kudos to Morisi! He might not have been at his best (he unretired just a few weeks ago), but it really was nice to see him again.

For me, the men’s fee skate was absolutely atrocious and gave figure skating a black eye, if anyone was watching. The best skater in the world (Malikin) attempted 6 quads, landed 3. The second best skater in the world (Kagiyama) attempted 4 quads, fell twice, The third best skater in the world (Siao Him Fa) attempted 5 quads, fell twice, big negative GOE on two others. Aymoz' first two elements were a triple toe then another triple toe. Memola led off with a fall on a quad. Sadovsky led off with a double Salchow. Egasze messed up both of his quad Salchow attempts, Rakic got -5s in GOE on his first three elements (a quad toe and two triple Axels), Kvitelashvili opened with 3S combo, 2A and 1T before falling on his 4T.

Well, OK, this competition was all in fun. For me, it wasn’t. I think that the ISU needs to take a hard look at the direction the sport is headed, on the men’s side, if it wants to attract any audience at all going forward. The IJS has deteriorated to "throw everything at the wall and hope that 50% of it sticks and you win the gold medal."
