I wonder why UtaMasa - national champions and olympic medalist are only in B cathegory while all other national medalists are in special strengthening group. No other ice dance team is on the list. I guess JFS is still not interested at all in developing and investing in ice dance. It's sad, cause with current training environment in Japan ice dancers have to go abroad for training camps and choreography if they want to even try to be competitive. It costs a fortune.

It is sad Ice Dance seems to have such a low prority @cocteautwin. Only one couple to get (low funding in B category), and the other couples, most of whom we have heard internationally, just have to pay those fortunes.
I was hoping it would change after the last olympic, seeing how close to the team gold medal Japan was. So far it doesn't seem like.

Ayumi and Lucas are also national medalist and they are not even on the list. Yes, they don't have any international success but they're are training mostly in Japan with no pair coaches. How they are supposed to get triple twist and triple throws in those circumstances?

It must be very encouareging for all the skaters considering trying pairs or ice dance 😬

I'm guessing that Rion Sumiyoshi will be added to the list after her GP assignments are confirmed.

I am surprised not to see Mako Yamashita on the list though. I think she made the Top 12 at Nationals. Has she decided to retire? :scratch2:

Mako was 15th at recent Nationals. Mana Kawabe was 12th and she's on the list.
