I’m really surprised by this. Eventhough Canada likely won’t medal, I was hoping Canada would get through so that Piper and Paul could perform their FD with the changes they made since GPF to get some feedback from the judges ahead of the individual event.Jackie Wong/Rocker Skating is reporting that if Canada qualifies for the Team Event Final, then Lajoie/Lagha will be substituted in for Gilles/Poirier.
Understandable choice as it is very clear the judges in this team event want Canada nowhere near the medal podium. Team Canada has clearly been the most underscored nation here. The Canadian judges need to learn to be as dirty and messy as the other nation’s judges, specifically Great Britain and China here, and France in other events throughout the season. These nations are cheating to get the results they want and Canada is never going to get the results they desire unless they play the same game. Canada and Italy and any other nation that is willing to form an alliance with them are going to have to stoop down to the level of the IAM judges to rig the results too.
These are predetermined results à la Nagano 1998 ice dance all over again and the nations that are playing too nice need to fight fire with fire.

I don’t begrudge them on this.I think Canada needs to learn to play 'dirtier' as a Fed in general, not because that's right (to the contrary other Feds should model Canada) but because other Feds will not ever play nice and it's absolutely clear at this point there will not be consequences for that, at least not any time in the near future. I'm pointing out the obvious now but their release of Fournier Beaudry for this season is another example. Almost no other Fed would have released her to skate with Cizeron in an Olympic Year when their own Fed otherwise had a medal contending team.
Canada should be a powerhouse Fed but they just don't seem to want any power.
Start Order for Each Team
Vanessa, however, already had Canadian citizenshipI don’t begrudge them on this.
Since. Vanessa was released with the same situation to Canada.
It would have been seen as so petty.
.
Agreed. But they obviously knew it wouldn’t be a long process for Laurence to get the French passport.Vanessa, however, already had Canadian citizenship.
But I think Skate Canada didn't expect them to get such high scores right away![]()
Thank you.

for Marco's twizzles. Justice to Italians!
I won’t mind this for LaLaCanada sent their IAM team in... Let's see if they get IAM bonus from the judges.
The best possible is 10 for US to 6 for Japan. So the best the US can hope for is 4 points to Japan's 1? Nail biter tomorrow.
ALL THE BEST EVERYBODY!!!
Technically, it would be the US 10 points and Japan 6. But, it's likely that pairs and ice dance cancel themselves out in the free. So, it will come down to the singles. So the best the US can hope for is 4 points to Japan's 1? Nail biter tomorrow.
And if the men and womes FS also cancels each other out, then we go into the tiebreakersTechnically, it would be the US 10 points and Japan 6. But, it's likely that pairs and ice dance cancel themselves out in the free. So, it will come down to the singles.
Thanks! I was confused again.Technically, it would be the US 10 points and Japan 6. But, it's likely that pairs and ice dance cancel themselves out in the free. So, it will come down to the singles.
