A really tough skate from Sui/Han, and I have to imagine a lot of that is because of her injury and insufficient training time. She is still really trying to sell this program, and there is some spark of magic, but that was far from their best. I'm glad to see she can actually stand after the program, though, she must be somewhat healed.

Shout out to Brens and FigureskatingandRainbows for the play-by-plays 🙏

That was a really great skate for these two, especially considering they are coming back from injury! They just had the doubled toe, but the rest of their elements looked the best that I've maybe ever seen. Camille and Pavel managed to qualify for the individual event as well after the withdrawal of the Azerbaijani Uzbekistani team, so they will get another chance to perform on Olympic ice.

PAIRS INJURY UPDATES:
  • Poor Wenjing has a bone bruise and a torn hip muscle in her right leg, I don't know how she's feeling since 4CC but she was really struggling in that event
  • Camille's shoulder should be okay, but it's taped probably just for added protection because dislocations become more common the more of them you have
  • Sara Conti tore a muscle in her knee on the 28th of December and was on crutches for two weeks. She has since been back on the ice and is wearing a brace, but it's mainly for mental support. She only feels pain if she lands badly on a throw/SBS/twist
  • Riku is completely healed from her shoulder dislocation, she says that she feels in the best shape of her life
  • We still don't know what's going on with Deanna and Max, only that they were injured a week ago and are still waiting on clearance from the Team Canada medical staff before competing in the individual event
