It's quite odd because they (Channel 9 in Australia) did have the individual streams at Beijing in 2022, so I'm not sure why they're offering less now :(

Also the downhill skiing is like a training run? Why are we being shown this rather than the skating where the scores actually matter? Rude!

On the other hand I have to go to bed, I've got an archery competition tomorrow and need all the zzzs I can get
Vonn is a question mark after injuring her knee recently. US channels need something and she's pretty big news with her retirement and comeback.

Eek! I had no idea that figure skating would be on so early in the day Italy-wise so I was expecting to have to catch up in the morning (Aussie time).

Unfortunately, the free-to-air channel that's airing the Olympics doesn't seem to have dedicated streams for the events so now I'm stuck watching Alpine skiing, which is fun and all but I'm missing the skating! :(
We miss you.

And I've just realised... I'm watching a delayed broadcast... they've come back and now we're watching the Italians.

One of our commentators is a dude who usually commentates on trampolining... Belinda is here though. Man she's been commentating skating for Aussie audiences forever! She did Torino in 2006!
I’m watching it on Stan where it’s all live. No Timezone or daylight saving delay.

True, except I'm in Aussieland! Although I think we get our video from the US feeds, actually I'm sure we do because we had wall-to-wall Nathan Chen last Olympics :laugh2:

Nice to see the Italians having a great skate though. Always great to see the hometown skaters have a humdinger.

Ah I see, they want us to pay extra for the good stuff :P I guess I could get a Stan trial for the duration of the Olympics...but I'd be worried I'd forget to cancel it and end up paying!

Anyway, I'm half an hour behind, the Georgians are skating, they're looking good!

I’ll be cancelling after the Olympics lol! Had to pay $20 to be able to watch the sports but no biggie.

Haha why is this guy with the Georgian flag in the crowd wearing sunglasses inside?

Anyway, great opening, but I have to agree the lift was a bit rough footwork-wise for poor Luka. Their side by side jumps were top tier though!

My predictions are screwed somehow I have Hungary in them. How was I able to do that?

Georgia Lady is pleased with this outcome!

And now I've got an ad break, like a caveman! This is like watching in the olden days.

Wait Hungary is here? Must have missed them. Good on them for making it in though.

But they aren’t here. How come I got to pick them?

Team Japan! I feel like it's been ages...

We return to Trampoline man quoting Paint it Black which is more amusing than dramatic.

Oh yeah that's right they have this interesting instrumental version of the song. Very intense still and they're kicking their side by side spins like the bosses they are :)

The tissue boxes being so promienently displayed is hilarious.

Oh wow! Huge score! Well deserved.

I missed Sui and Han, did they have a rough skate? I'm not used to seeing them not in first!

Now I really do need to go, good luck to the ladies!

First fall of the competition

OUCH, another hard fall on the throw! Poor girl is getting beat up
It's interesting how the commentary is stressing Sui being a 'warrior' instead of questioning the choice by China and by Sui to push ahead and compete here when Zhang/ Huang could have been sent. After all, Z/H won the pairs spot for China. To what avail are S/H competing in Milano at low strength and with Sui surely in pain and risking further injury?
