Hmm... how was it clutch? They barely held on by the skin of their teeth with a fall, and a couple little stumbles, and she looks terrified for the first half... like the canadians, there looks to be a ton of nerves in that program from the female partner. Often Trennt is the one who makes the silly mistakes for the Canadians but he was solid today, which I think and hope bodes well if he continues to keep his skates underneath him...TEAM UNITED STATES

I really love this program, and this team has so many qualities in their skating skills and transitions; this program has more content in it than most others. There were a few nervy moments, like with the Canadians and Brits in this group, but they did really well on the SBS jumps. They lost a few points on the SBS spins and twist, and the throws continue to be a problem, but otherwise, that was a clutch performance for Ellie and Danny.
I don't see how that was a good skate... a fall, very sketchy spins, and a couple little stumbles throughout. If they were clean, they could be challenging for top three here, but that was not a good skate...Ellie/Danny. Really nice outfits and a good program. Shame about the fall, but good skating skills and a good skate.![]()
Whaaaaaaaa....? That lift was super scary. He looked a split second away from tripping at any moment. And those spins were terrifying. I thought that at any second he was going to slice her with his skates! Certain elements were excellent, but I don't see how that beats the italians....TEAM GEORGIA

Another great skate from Metelkina/Berulava! This is probably the strongest program they've had, they carry flow so well across the ice in their elements which lets them rack up GOE. They don't have as many transitions as the other teams, but they have improved massively on their PCS abilities. That lift still scares me to death, though, the footwork is sooooo wide. It's going to be very close for bronze for Georgia and Italy, especially with what happened in ice dance, so beating Conti/Macii here will be very, very valuable.
Agreed, shocking that they're placed in second.Whaaaaaaaa....? That lift was super scary. He looked a split second away from tripping at any moment. And those spins were terrifying. They were a little close to each other, either of them could have pulled out but they didn't and got a deserved second place.Whaaaaaaaa....? That lift was super scary. Is she being made? I thought she wanted to come back and they made Con come back from retirement.I just rewatched and am so angry that Sui is being made to do this.
As a couple of people have mentioned on this thread, their impression (and mine) is that it was Sui's desire and decision to come back. At first Han said no Then Sui skated with another partner. disaster. In the past little while (a year?) Cong Han must have been pressured to come back.I just rewatched and am so angry that Sui is being made to do this.
IMO, Sui wants to do this. I do not think she's being made to do it. She wanted to find another partner. When that fell through, she helped convince Han to come back. If anything, it's Han who had pressure placed on him to return or else he was given an offer he couldn't refuse.I just rewatched and am so angry that Sui is being made to do this.
What an overstatement. Miura/ Kihara have often been given wins with mistakes. They are simply not the best ever, and they are not always consistent. Plus, they are not musically expressive. They are just optimally helped by their choreographers with program composition and music selection. Their talent is in their speed, deep knee bend, and good overall match-up. But they are often overscored when they skate clean and given gift medals when they skate with errors. On another note, Miura and Kihara good as always!
Be happy with the skaters you love. Others pointing out their weaknesses and how they are held up as the chosen team should not bother you if you love them and you don't see their weaknesses. In any case, the Olympic gold medal is M/K's to lose at this point. Barring something unexpected happening, they have it in their grasp because that's what those in power want. Same for Chock/ Bates, obviously. That what annoys me. How posters know skaters are being made. Is criminal
