I was just reading about this! They said because skiing is cheaper than skating people there go for skiing. Another thing I read is skiing has more relays and group activities. Skating is too solo! But then I was like is skating really more solo than skiing?!

But if you want to add a combo onto jumps you have to control the landing, and she does not, its not easy with this Axel technique.

No need to get sour I am only speaking about technicalities.

Here, sure. But there's value in getting a layout consistent, too. You end up changing your pattern on the ice, and that's a new headache.

She joins Mao Asada as the only woman to officially get three clean triple axels in the books at an Olympics!

Amber's Olympic experience is also a repeat of Mao's in 2014. Mao also had a disastrous short program and was in 16th place (if my memories serve me well) then delivered a perfect long program. I remember and re watch that program (and Julia's long program from the team event) more than I do any other programs from Sochi.
I'm so happy for Amber. All I wanted for her is this - a great and proud moment to be remembered by.

Regardless of what happens, I'm just delighted that Amber was able to focus after the SP disaster and turn in such a great skate. So happy for her!

She's so self-critical, which is ghastly. I'm a singer and have sabotaged myself in a few auditions the same way. It ain't fun when there's a carping little nitpicker living in your head rent free.

Yes she does. Amber can clearly add a 2T to that jump. Anyone can add a 2T to any jump they're able to land like that. It's not some difficult thing. Usually it will result in less flow though.

i love sunset boulevard, i like Samo, but tbh I see no connection between the skate and the music at all. You could switch it to any other music.
