2026 World Figure Skating Championships | Women's Free Skate

I experience a strange mix of conflicting feelings as I am very happy for Kaori to most likely finish her career on such an extremely high notes - winning worlds with a new personal best but also heartbroken for Amber that can't quite do well enough at Worlds to bring home a big medal.

Wow that was an all time choke by Glenn does the 3A gets both combos out of the way then completely melts down.

I already wrote it but practice on Tuesday she performed lights out looked so confident, powerful skating then in the short program was a nervous wreck and unrecognisable from a day before. This was her chance and this point will never get a better one.

Oh. My. Heart.

I started watching the world feed replay on Peacock a few minutes ago. Poor Barbora! That fall looked so awful -- she just sat down on the ice and looked like "yikes, what just happened?!?"

She deserves a medal simply for getting up and fighting through the rest of the program.

Barbora, honey, you've got guts and the heart of a lioness. There's no doubt about it: you will go on! 👏🏻❤️

PS -- and thank God she wasn't injured!

Didn't she do this at the Olympics?

It must have been so hard for Kaori after the disappointment of not winning OG. But I think this should be all the sweeter for representing her country so admirably and wrapping her career with a World gold.
Like MK, she will see how sweet this really is and not have any bitter memoires. She is now a legand, Like MK. So many have an OGM and had less than desirable lives.....

Who amoung us can say what it is like to perform under all that pressure?

No offense, but she's been performing under all that pressure for how many years? Amber has been overhyped for way too long.

Kaori deservedly won, but I love how the judges had a different scoring system for her compared to anyone else. The GOEs were just out of this world, way too high for what she showed.

Mone did great. Nina did great.

Isabeau should consider changing coaches.

We actually agree on Isabeau!!!!!! I cant believe this. She needs a coach who tells her the next time she hunches before or after a jump, she gets wacked by a wet noodle. She is highly over rated....she is a nice person who needs a coach who can tell how to present herself and how to skate.

There is no pressure like the Olys and Worlds. It took down Nathan Chen and it took down Ilia M. My hat is off to Amber. She went into a place where she was going nowhere, and upped the technical part of her program to new heights. And with the 3A , she was reborn. The rules say I cant post pics of her and I when she was a kid, but I have known her for awhile. Worlds and Olys is night and day over Nats or a GP. When she is on, she is great....like Ami...but the pressure got to Ami, Hae-in, and Amber here.

Kaori didnt have a great season last year, if you watch the mistakes....but she came back this year determined and in fighting shape. Was she overscored? I am not a judge, or I would have dinged Amber in the Short....for a major UR. I actually hate this judging system unless it is back upped with modern technology. Something they wont do due to political reasons I cant talk about here. So it is what it is. She did a 100 percent job of being Kaori.

Catching up on the women's free. I really like Sarah Everhardt's free. I prefer watching her to Isabeau for some reason... Have yet to watch Kaori on replay but sounds like she was spectacular.
