2026 World Figure Skating Championships | Women's Short Program

I was Rink side and Sarah was very expressive and for the crowd what a brilliant program her Irish reel.

All the ladies did so wonderful today, but my favorites were Niki, Amber and Katia đź«

Just wow how they all delivered today!

The British team btw. Soooooo kind people omg, they must have two hearts in their chests!

Isabeau is just great, love her style, it's so subtle, yet strong and emotional, great skater

i know this is a surprise for many of us, but i hate this baby pink with the powe of 1000 of suns

I usually agree with you but not this time...

To each her own, though, yes?

What really sold me was the simplicity of the design -- no bling! -- and the movement of the fabric. I didn't like the pleating at the collar and cuffs, though. IMO that made the dress look too precious.

And very very lucky to get it. Sometimes you get good breaks, and sometimes not. She did today. I want to see the protocols on that combo.
I dont know nothing about skatin' but I know a UR in slow mo on my big screen. I am gonna rewatch tonight and take a pic of the comentators pointing out the UR. This isnt about Amber, its about the ISU system. Even baseball in the US is going to hitech replays of pitches.
edit. Here is all you need to see about two unreviewed jumps. I am not liking the 3 Toe.

Sarah needs to find some personality on the ice. She is technically strong but I need to feel some emotion. I think her coaching team is trying to encourage this with her "doll" LP but, for me, it just emphasizes her rigid, robotic skating. I hope over the summer she finds some music that speaks to her and then explores expression with a strong choreographer.
Sadly, I have to agree with this. She got points, but not my heart.

It is!! I love everything about the short program!! She’s always such a joy to watch!!
And look at her slay count. I would rather watch her than 3/4 of the skaters here. Unlike Sarah, she knows how to use her face for artistic impression.

After a day of recovering my poor eardrums (seriously, this is the first time I feel like the music and sounds in the arena are *too* loud, to the point of being almost painful) I am happy to report that this was one very supportive crowd. They loved Sarah, Amber, Ami and they absolutely EXPLODED for Kaori. I think Mone had the best free program of the season as far as energy and vibes go. And Gubanova improved since the last time I saw her live (euros in Kaunas, she was pretty slow skater back then). Overall I had no issues with organisation, so I'm optimistic for day 2.

I feel like I'm the only one who actually loves Isabeau's short this year and I'm tired of hearing how her programs don't connect with audiences because there are favorites on this board whose programs have never done anything for me. Like if I don't like the music or the choreography, I'm completely checked out most of time. And it's not that my taste isn't versatile because I pretty much like any Dune program which is the complete opposite of Isabeau.
NO, you're not the only one. Isabeau's short program (and costume) is my favorite women's short program of the season!

Yeah, I don’t get it either. I love Isabeau’s skating. But after a very enthusiastic reception the audience lost interest. I’m not snarking at all. Looking forward to next season’s programs. Also, the Czech crowd will literally clap along to ANYTHING! It was cracking me up. Of course, I joined in. I think there was one slow blues number that didn’t get a clapping, but even the classical music did. It was so fun!

Amber got the bigger pop from the crowd even though it was a nervy performance. What was apparent live is that Isabeau skates small, much like Nakai with the Shirley Temple short program and Pinzaronne. I was really shocked the points Pinzaronne received for such jumps it was a nice performance though. I understand economic realities of the sports entertainment business the ISU are in, so it does make sense in that context.
