Replay Lounge
It's been a very busy week so I'm catching up as best I can late at night. I'm sure this has been discussed a ton in the regular threads but sadly I'm missing all (most? fingers crossed for tomorrow) of them for this competition. Who are the commentators on the ISU stream? WOW they talk a lot.

Amber's 3A was not executed well, so of course she received negative GOE.
Amber's 2nd jump in her combo was not executed well, so of course she received a q and negative GOE.

I couldn't care less who is pro Amber or con Amber. All I care about is accurate scoring. They did their job.

As for Selevko? I've replayed it 4 times. His performance level is really something and that 4T is a humdinger. Great height. And only a few men could perform to Prince's music that well.
Thanks for posting those GOEs for Amber's combo. 0 to -5. So it cost her a point? Am I reading that correctly? She turns fast so its hard to catch the UR without stop action. How much would a UR cost her if it was caught?

They talk much less than Tara and Johnny. At least to me. Maybe Tania is still getting the hang of when to shut up? Shrug.

Oh man, just watched Yuma skate his short. What the heck?! That was the strangest waxel/pop. There was talk of a rut also where he landed... Sigh. ...such an awful thing to watch. Hoping he regroups for the best free skate ever!

broke my heart. waxels are my nemesis as a skating fan

Pairs : seems like Georgian and Ukrainian judges are friendly.

And Salomé isn't happy with Daniil Parkman, who formerly represented Georgia...

I will leave it there :)

All I will say about elements and judging is that Metelkina's position on the death spiral is not low enough and this element should be invalid.

Normally I don't get into this sort of discussion, but what I seemed to see, not live so there was a camera angle involved, was her looking for his knee and trying to bend her head back lower to satisfy the required depth that way, since she couldn't get her body any lower. He then rose up just enough in his pivot position to raise his knee slightly above her head. Except then his knee wasn't high enough in relation to his hip.....it looked like they were both struggling to adjust their positions relative to each other but each could only manage an inch or so.

It was such a small point, it was the sort of thing where an argument could go either way, depending on the angle you saw them. But at that technical level, she should have been able to get her whole body closer to the ice in the first place.

Oh, they're both very nice, and I do appreciate they don't talk much during the program. That's the most important. thing. It's just so nonstop. I've gotten so spoiled with watching non-commentary streams!

I know, right? Yuma's clever dancy SP is my absolute favorite this season. It is so felel-good entertaining. What a shame about the freak accident.

M/B 'consistently' produce the ugliest DS in the world, on this occasion they managed to surpass themselves - it was the ugliest in the whole universe. But the bigger question here is how they are awarded such GOEs and PCS.. for this particular skate with a fall and several other errors (both Anastassia's axels looked at least q to me) they got 69.79 PCS and over 12 points in GOE. Skating for a small federation is sometimes not a bad thing at all...

her axels were downgraded. I am not sure Georgia isn't powerful... it seems like they get plenty of reward for what they put on the ice at times.

my beef is the high GOE on their lifts.

I don't care that Lia and Trennt should have been given silver... bronze or silver... same thing in my opinion...

but I care that this pairs is constantly earning high scores no matter what they put on the ice.

The Hungarians made one mistake and they were relegated down.

Since Georgia only has one pair right now, will their extra quota places be reallocated if they can't fill them?
