No problem. It was my own fault for losing count of how far into the group we were.
Hey, you can't know everything about every skater. But, it was worth asking, in case you did know about them.

Wow!! The Lithuaniangirl was in so many tears after her free skate. I wish some of these girls would put less pressure on themselves. They did their best and there is always another event or season to do better.
I totally agree.
The irony is, she went into the lead. But, she probably wanted a higher score to make sure she climbed up the order.
Well, she's just gone up one position, as our second Wanda of the competition, Wanda KEDZIERSKA (POL), has gone into 6th in the FS and 3rd overall.
It's been years since I came across anybody called Wanda, and we have two in this competition!

I didn’t know Uxia switched coaches.
She is in good hands with Lee. I expect her to improve a lot now that she is in this figure skating camp.
She was skating in an AB camp with a lady coach. I guess she wants to take her skating to the next level.
Uxia Pezzetta’d her jump into the board.
Free skate is 60+. She should move up some positions after this skate thanks to all her triple jump attempts.
Now, I have to start work. So, won’t be posting much. But, I will be watching

Ouch! That was a bad bang into the boards from Uxia GONZALEZ-ABRALDES (CAN).
She did a jump next to the boards, and just about had enough room. But then she hit it, and there was a massive bang. But, she set off again straight away.
I think the person controlling the stream panicked when they heard the bang, and cut the stream in case something serious was wrong. And by the time they realised everything was alright and started broadcasting again, she was in her finishing position.
She goes into the lead of both FS and overall by a huge margin.
I'm interested to find out more about Uxia. When I saw her first name, I automatially thought "Aha! She's from a Basque family". I am fascinated by the Basque people, and their language and culture. Hey, I have even adopted a Basque skater. But when I looked Uxia's name up, I found out it was actually from Galicia. (Not the Polish / Ukrainian region. The region of Spain that juts out over the top of Portugal). And that Uxia is the Galician version of Eugenia / Evgenia.
We've get another Zhenya on our hands! Just to confuse us even further!
Anyway, Uxia may have had her problems yesterday and today, but she is clearly very promising. Getting a score like that despite a big bang into the boards is proof of it!
I look forward to hopefully seeing more of her in the seasons to come.

Ada KORIĆ (BIH) was disappointed when she went into 3rd position overall.
But she should be proud. When was the last time we saw a skater from Bosnia in contention for a Top 10 position in a big field like this?
It would be lovely to see her go on and do well, and raise the profile of the sport in her country.

It was a joke.
I thought it would be funny, because of all the confusion there has been over the years over whether people were talking about Plushenko, or Medvedeva, or somebody else.
I have every intention of calling her Uxia.

I missed Ornella yesterday, due to leaving to eat.
Boys but I am glad I saw her today! I really enjoyed that.
Yes, it was not perfect. She had a fall. But I am so impressed.
She goes into 6th posiion overall.

my meal prep is done... soba noodles, tofu and bok choy will be stir fried after this event
Unfortunately, so is mine. Which means I will be leaving now and missing the end of this competition.
And I might miss the boys too. I haven't decided yet whether or not to put off doing what I usually do on a Friday after eating.
But, whatever I do, I will definitely be back for the second girls competition.

the loop... i think she got disturbed because she had a wobble in the approach of it... the flip was off-axis.. that will be where she needs to work.

First time Lia scored over 100!!!
Mind you, per PB from last season internationally, she only did two 3S and two 3F. This season, she is doing two 3Lz and two 3F.

I think she is the best Novice skater now, outside of Russia. And she isn’t even eligible for next season JGP circuit.
Ksenia - Always second to Lia. She did not do any 3Lo’s domestically this season. So, seeing her attempt this jump was a surprise to me. Also, she usually 2A and 1A her axel sequence. This time, she tried 2A and 2A (second 2A looked short). Another silver medal
for her. But, it will be tough for her to get a JGP assignment for next season as she has no consistent 3Lo and no triple triple (which, is a requirement for Skate Canada). Hopefully, she gains these jumping elements for next season.Camila - I’m the opposite. I prefer the older sister. She did well here, just as good as what she did to win our Novice Championship.
Uxia - Nice move up from 14th to 5th.
Does anybody know if Uxia and Camila are JGP age eligible for next season?
Also, Hanna Kim is the 9th place finisher from US Junior Nationals. So, this is a good comparison as to where our Canadian youngsters stand in comparison to the Americans.
