A beautiful start to the Men's SP from LOW Chun Hong (MAS).
I am not familiar with the song, but it certainly sounded like Evanesance.
I can't check his ISU Bio, because he doesn't have one! Chun Hong is actually an Adult skater. But, his name does appear on other ISU Bios as a coach.
Good on him for appearing here!

First Evanesence. Now Pink Floyd.
The boys have good music choices so far!
Not a bad skate from ZHAO Heung Lai Jarke (HKG).
Not much reaction from him to his scores. But the audience were happy with them!
He goes into 2nd position.

I must apologise to Paolo BORROMEO (KAZ). When I saw him, I thought he was one of the Kazakh skaters, because I remember commenting earlier in the season about a Kazakh skater wearing a costume in the colour of the flag of Kazakhstan.
What a beautiful song. Dwayne says it was in Tagalog. Which was a lovely touch. It is nice to hear music in a language we are not used to.
And he skated really well too!

A couple of non-skating related issues during the programme from YUEN Lap Kan Lincoln (HKG).
The first was some buffering. But, I think that is at my end, because it rectifies itself when I go out of full screen, and then back again.
The other was that the camera lost him at one point!
It was not quite Julia Lipnitskaya levels, but it was one of the better "Schindler's List" programmes.
He's happy.
He goes into 3rd position. Just 0.28 points behind ZHAO Heung Lai Jarke (HKG).
There is going to be an epic battle between the Hong Kong skaters in the Free Skate!

Aha! We sort of have back-to-back skaters from Kazakhstan now. Well, there is the Group 2 Warm-Up between them.
And this double-bill starts with a beautiful Muse programme from Dias JIRENBAYEV (KAZ).

Ach. When Belinda was talking about Yuma KAGIYAMA (JPN) and said "following in the footsteps of...", I thought she was going to talk about his Dad's skating career. But, no, she started listing recent Japanese stars.
Mind you, I did think it funny that she did surname first for Kagiyama and Hanyu, but surname second for Uno.

The opening group went surprisingly well for a Men's competition.
Group 2 are making up for it now!
CHEN Yudong (CHN) had a fall on his first jump.
He goes into 2nd position. Around 2 points head of 3rd position.

Ouch I hope Hyungyeom is okay, that second axel fall looked hard and he was holding his leg for a bit after that

I love "Music" by John Miles.
But I didn't love the start of KIM Hyungyeom (KOR)'s programme. Falls on the first two jumps.
Thankfully, the rest of the programme was a lot better.
Dwayne commented that he noticed a few things before Hyungyeom started that were maybe signs that he was nervous. So, perhaps that played into how the first couple of elements went.
He goes into 5th position. Coach CHI Hyunjung looks disappointed.

Yuma KAGIYAMA (JPN) just performed an exorcism on this group.
Beautiful skate to two versions of "The Sound Of Silence".
I loved the instrumental version at the start. But, I really didn't like the vocal version after.
Don't you just love seeing a parent and child sitting together for the results!
That said, neither of them were happy with the scores.
Nevertheless, he goes into a massive lead. He is 27.06 points ahead of 2nd position.

Well done Daiwei for being unfazed skating right after Yuma's glorious skate 
He looked fast, definitely didn't feel too slow right after watching Yuma - so that's saying something!

And the effects of the exorcism continue. A great skate from DAI Daiwei (CHN).
I was so impressed with Daiwei when I first saw him earlier in the season. And I was impressed again today.
I can see him becoming the next star of Chinese Men's skating.
He goes into 2nd position.

People might disagree but I actually like Ze Zeng Fang's costume (yes, including the gloves)
