Well, others might say that silence can also speak volumes. Feel free to disagree.
Actually, I absolutely agree! In fact, I'd be one of those "others"!
But, even if you believe that the ISU's silence somehow indicates an eventual difficult / convoluted / conspiratorial decision; nonetheless, a silent ISU hardly equates to "...endless, needless drama"!! That was my point.
I hate to say it ... but "let's cut the ISU a little slack!"
Waiting now for the ISU to do their's.![]()

Grammar police! The ISU is a single entity organization made up of federations. Hence you would use its not their's.
Sorry couldn't resist.![]()

On topic... with nothing stated thus far it seems plausible that the ISU will wait until after CoR to make a determination/announcement. I'm not sure how I feel about that.
Mrs. P ... please no grammar police on GS! LOL. I have a number of friends on fb who are grammar NAZIS. It's exhausting.

This is my first time to post on this thread... but in general I tend to agree with all thoughts from MM!

I believe if the noun is plural (regardless of whether the meaning is singular, e.g., "sales"), you treat is as plural. In the case of the ISU, it *should* be singular. However, colloquially, at least in British English, there is an acceptance of using the plural verb (and pronouns) for organizations. You could argue that organizations are a collection of individuals, so they are plural by implication. It gets even more confusing, as in BrE "staff" (staff members) is often treated as plural, e.g., "the staff are on strike".
I'll shut up now and get back to what I should be writing![]()

But ... it also is significant that the ISU has held off from updating skater bios with TEB placements -- as discussed both in this thread and the other one. (The bio of Rodighiero, a Rostelecom entry, is an exception.)
So I do not feel sure at all that the ISU has made a decision to use TEB SP placements as final.
Usually the ISU bios are updated within hours of the conclusion of a GP. It does not take long at all to get the updating done.
In the case of TEB, the ISU clearly has made a choice not to go forward with all the updating yet.

.... Clearly, the short program placements were used as the final results for TEB. ...

Expecting strange things

I could go either way on the grammar, but I like your Location.

Dear me, I have no idea how that could have happened![]()
Whether it is clear or not is a matter of opinion. For the reason I previously have stated, it remains unclear to me:
The bios of most TEB skaters still have not been updated -- almost 48 hours since the World Standings charts were updated. Something is holding the ISU back from updating the bios of most TEB skaters -- including (for example) Shoma; Gracie; Tatiana/Max; and Madi/Zach.
If the SP placements were final, I see no reason why the bios of Shoma; Gracie; Tatiana/Max; and Madi/Zach would not already show that they placed first at TEB. Etc., etc.
If the SP placements were final, the placements could be added to all the bios .. even if the GP qualification process has not been decided.
