Do you mean, Alyona has spoken of doing Pairs at some time? The talk about Aliona's back injury came up in an interview Yana gave recently. There's an English translation here:

Yana Rudkovskaya: “I don’t think Tutberidze is the greatest coach. What is great about the conveyor of female athletes, practically children, who don’t have senior career in sports?”
Yana Rudkovskayaco-owner of the Angels of Plushenko Academy and the wife of Evgeni Plushenko about Tarasova's words, Eteri Tutberidze, Alexandra Trusova and Alena Kostornaia.fs-gossips.com
But I remember reading about this while Aliona was still at AoP -- I think when she first arrived Plushenko said she had some kind of injury that they needed to treat, but they did not specify what it was at the time...
I also have noticed that Aliona's back seems stiffer than before -- or that she's being very careful with her back. When she attempts an Ina Bauer, she doesn't lean back as much as before, and her donut spin/twisted donut (? like a Biellmann) looks labored compared to before. But if that helps her avoid chronic pain/permanent injury, then I'm all for her prioritizing her long-term health!
As for Aliona choosing to leave Team Tut voluntarily -- I highly doubt she'd do it. I think she'd choose to retire rather than choose to leave Team Tut. I think Aliona learned her lesson when she left for AoP. I doubt she'd get the same level of PCS if she moved to a lesser-known team, and I think Aliona realized that she needs a very strict coach. Also, we all know that Aliona is super outgoing and social, and I think she really missed having a "girl gang" to train with. She won't have that elsewhere. And while I am highly skeptical about what kind of programs Daniil might choreograph for her, I do think that Eteri has made some absolutely brilliant programs for her (like Angel and Adios Nonino), and I am hopeful that Eteri could be inspired to create another masterpiece for her.
Watching Deniss Vasiljevs this season did make me wonder how Aliona would do in Stephane's group, but even if she could afford to do it, I think she would miss her family and friends in Moscow too much, and I'm not sure Stephane is enough of a disciplinarian to handle our very charming, but very emotional and willful, rebel.
Separately, I wonder if Aliona still is interested in doing pairs, or if she has given that up completely...
I have to say, I really really enjoyed watching Roman Sadovsky perform at Skate Canada, and I think he and Aliona are both very expressive performers with excellent basics, so now I have this wild idea that they should do pairs together... It will never happen but I can dream!![]()

Yes Roman or Junwhan would be great if they become a bit more bulky somehow? Now I imagine the wonderful spins etc. Maybe she thought about the strong sensations of a Pairs skater during lifts, twists etc. It must be great for skaters who love it.Do you really think other Eteri girls are docile? She's maybe the most outspoken but I rather get vibes of strong characters and personalities, each in their way. I even believe it's part of the package expected from an Eteri skater.

Maybe it does turn out that she did this but I doubt it was with a Machiavellian mind.
