Lakernik's intervention so that she gets two new programs gave me the impression that the Federation, while denying it publicly, felt they had failed to protect her against CoViD, and among the most promising skaters, she had the most serious one, and it was their way to "make amends". Did it go further (by suggesting her to go back to Eteri Tutberidze)? I really don't know. They may think she will recover her level better there than with Plushenko, and given the "TeamTutberidze bonuses" given at championship, they must consider her the best Russian Ladies coach. About coaching, I have absolutely no idea. Her living near her rink was perfect (2½ hours each way to Khrystalny from her home!) But given how severe her CoViD was, and given that she had a sore throat a few weeks later, I confess I suspect her diet was not good enough to boost her immunity, and this may be held somehow against Angels of Plushenko (but after all, does Russian Federation consider diet and immunity at all?)Well, if Aliona has one great flaw, it‘s that she‘s driven by emotions and can be very impulsive. I do hope she was smarter than this, though.
What exactly were those rumours about the federation, though? I keep hearing things like that but no one ever seems to be able specify. Why would the fed be interested in her return if they have a dozen other girls ready to take the gold/medals? Technically, they don‘t need Aliona.

They can beat Covid in news
The drama that is ladies skating in Russia...
You really think Plushenko and Yana didn’t notice Aliona moving out of her cottage on their property?
Like with angina=heart problems, one wrongly translated press release gives a go to thousands of rumors.Lakernik's intervention so that she gets two new programs

I was going to post about the Cup Final when the news broke, so now it seems it was a whole world ago, 'cause the big news has overwritten it (and everything else). Well, it's no secret here that I was not happy about her decision leaving TT last summer (especially the way she left left a bitter taste in my mouth), but life goes on, if she had to go, she had to and I, as a fan can do nothing but accept her decision and support her no matter what. She's obviously been struggling throughout the whole season, nothing's worked out really well for her ever since she left TT. (Now I'm not going say anything about the series of questionable strategic decisions made by her coaching team...) Still, against all odds, she did quite well at the Russian Cup Final. Of course, it was a far cry from her top form, but she proved to be a great fighter and a very strong character. (To be honest, after the short and the morning training on Sunday, I had a great fear of a total meltdown in the free, but thank God, nothing like that happened.) I think Aliona has a very impulsive and headstrong personality, which can both serve her well and sometimes not very well. She's "skating"on very thin ice in this situation, because she can lose a lot (even everything) if she's not very careful from now on. Hopefully, she'll be taken back by ET and she'll get every chance to get back to her top form and fulfill her potential. Also, I really hope she'll be able to restore the good relationships with the coaches. (I hope Daniil will be more open for that than with EM...So what are all of yours thoughts about the news?
)
Aliona catching coronavirus and then not being able to shake its after effects has changed everything this season.
OMG. We're having a lot going on this season aren't we
I tried to clear my thoughts before writing something down but this whole thing is just ... hard to digest.
She seems really upset and panicking.![]()
Where have you read about she would not have had coronavirus if she had the right diet? As we all know it was just bad luck. And the after effects of coronavirus were devastating for her season at PA. Aliona never got healthy enough to show her best there.I can't believe my eyes Have I actually read something here that Alyona should have kept the coronavirus off with the right diet? Dear people, you can't possibly be serious. Take valerian and turn on the brain. And regarding the recurring argument "Do you really think Aljona would do this or that? She would be stupid if". I can imagine that very well after everything that has happened. If someone had told the story a year ago, just as it happened later, everyone would have laughed and answered Do you really think someone would be so stupid and ...? ".
Incidentally, it is easy to evaluate decisions when you are not yourself in the stressful situation. In the end, all you can do is wish the girl luck and hope never to end up on the operating table of neurosurgeon Kostornaia.

I think we all know now that vitamin C vitamin D3 and zinc in particular are key vitamins to strengthen your immunity system and to try to fight off colds flu viruses including Coronavirus. I have no idea of the Russian Federation had their skaters take these vitamins or if their parents had their children take these vitamins. Zinc on an empty stomach is brutal.I am sorry if you misunderstood me.
A great number of surveys now, show that a lack of some nutrients (vitamins C & D, Zink...) make people much more likely to catch CoViD 19 than if they hadn't. (No combined survey to this date, as far as I know, only a number of surveys on each of these nutrients taken separately.) Which is consistent with theoretical models and previous surveys on other diseases. Yet, even with the right diet, a skater remains frail to any infection (caught at the moment or not long before) at the end of an exhausting skating session.
But once the bug is there, the status in vitamins (C?), D, K and in Zinc is a strong predictor of the outcome. So, if a skater gets it and becomes seriously ill, it may arouse suspicions. I have said nothing more, because there is nothing more. As far as I know, there is no survey of the outcome of CoViD patients with or without a combination of all these nutrients, only each nutrient taken separately, and then, only on mortality, or need of ICU, or of hospitalisation, I have never read anything differentiating between mild and moderate symptoms, because it would be hard to avoid subjectivity, and also because few people use all their lungs and heart and stamina capacity everyday, so it seems to be generally thought that it doesn't matter. But as these nutrients are closely related to the need of hospitalisation or ICU, or to the risk of death, our mind tends to extrapolate and to think that an early administration of these nutrients may often advert a moderate illness, and tend to admit a sort of reciprocal, that a young person with moderate symptoms may have not had the right nutrients, and sometimes forget the "may"... hence suspicions.
A nuance though. Nothing worked well before she left Team Tutberidze too. At least she thought so. Maybe she was too impatient to get her 3A back given her growth spurt and it influenced her decision, this I really don't know. But she got it back only mid-November as she said at Rostelecom Cup.I was going to post about the Cup Final when the news broke, so now it seems it was a whole world ago, 'cause the big news has overwritten it (and everything else).
