A bunch of videos that I've found:

ISU has updated the World Standings to reflect the TEB SP results as the final results. So officially Sasha finished 6th at TEB, which accounts for 236 pts.

He didn't get any ranking points from Nice so the two slots for "selected international competitions" remain blank. I hope he can do at least one more senior B this season and score some points from it to keep his ranking high enough for a GP assignment next season. *fingers crossed* There aren't many left on the calendar.

Or, if he skates well enough at Nationals to get a spot to Europeans, would that work...? :slink: Dreams, dreams, I know, but a little dreaming can't hurt sometimes.

Europeans go into the "ISU World Championships" slot, the "selected international competitions" slots would still be blank.
I also hope he can go to Europeans. But with the PCS that Rus Fed will likely give him compared to other skaters... :sad21:

Isn't the youth Olympics this season? Could he get any points if he goes there and does well?

Probably but I'm not sure. The ISU document on World Standings is old, dated 2010.
But Russia only has one spot at the Youth Olympics for mens skating so it will be difficult.

Skate Canada gala practice session fancam.
A full hour of it!

Warsaw Cup practice sessions begin on the 25th, so I hope we can get some indication soon whether Sasha will be going or not.

How likely is it, though? Is he first or second substitute, and is any of the Russians likely to withdraw? Anyway, I think it's a good thing they tried to get him this. A new SB would be nice, and he likely could have got that at TEB.

The substitutes are listed according to alphabetical order of surname. But Mishin and Rus Fed probably have an idea who they will bring to Warsaw Cup should only one Russian man pull out. How likely are any Russians to withdraw though? I really can't tell.

It would be good if he gets a chance to skate his FS again before Nationals. And yeah, SB and ranking points would help with next season's GP assignments too.

Thanks. We'll have to wait and see, I suppose - but at least we'll know soon.

Oh, and every time I've listened to this, I've been struck more and more by the thought that it might suit Sasha:

I think it would work to his strengths, whilst still being somewhat different from what he has now.

I think next season he would probably be ready to skate to something epic like this. And Richaud would do justice to this kind of music.

Rus Fed has announced the team they are sending to Warsaw Cup. Sasha's name is not on it so I guess he's not going.

"World champion Elizaveta Tuktamysheva take part in an international tournament series "Challenger" in Warsaw.

In addition to the student of Alexei Mishin, a member of the Russian team included:

Men: Zhan Bush, Alexander Samarin, Anton Shulepov

Women: Elizaveta Tuktamysheva, Serafima Serafima Sakhanovich

Dance: Anastasia Safronova - Ilya Zimin."

Well, pity, but not really unexpected. At least they tried. Hopefully they'll find something else - I don't suppose there's much before Russian Nationals, though? But at least Sasha is coming off three well skated programs in a row, so he doesn't need a confidence booster - it's another thing, of course, if they're aiming to include the quad at Nationals, and want to try it out somewhere else first.

There's another CS event (Golden Spin) before Nationals but there are already 3 Russian men entered in that and I don't think Mishin would take him to that since Liza is not entered.

Looking at the rest of the season, there's probably only one other senior B that he could do to get some ranking points, and that's Bavarian Open in Feb. That clashes with the Youth Olympics. If he isn't sent to the Youth Olympics, hopefully he'll do that. But it will also depend on Liza's schedule.
