Ahhh, relief! I am very happy with tonight's decision OBVIOUSLY not being based only on last nights performance. Unless of course the rest of the viewers did not like the idea of the next AI being a "metal head" who eats micraphones . He is good but I am not disappointed - he is a niche.

To see a face that was so sad go into shock was almost like seeing Shi-chan bust that smile. Sorry to Chris, but I am sure there are 100 Rock / Metal / "Powerhouse" style bands waiting for you to make one of them HUGE. Great voice - loose the incessant vibrato - it is slightly well known that guys do not have it naturally after the age of around 13, and that much just says you aren't "clean" enough to hold a solid note.

Way to go Icy Fresh!!!!

Still going to believe that Taylor will win this, but I am sooo happy the public was looking at the whole. There is nothing I like more then when the girls win!! And I will cheer for her the whole way.

Happy for you Seanibu! I sure didn't see that coming. What did you think of them letting Taylor sing an extra song? At first I thought he might be going home so they were offering a consolation prize, LOL. Loved the "go Kat go" . Another fun night but Chris going home leaves the race w-i-d-e open. Taylor may just win this. Over at AI's site on the message boards Taylor's thread has way more posts than the others. Haven't read them enough to know if they are all positive. I've got to hand it to you excellent taste. Kat, like Tanith Belbin has perfect classical beauty looks, IMO.

So who will it be, Elliott, Katharine or Gray Charles?

I really didn't see that one eaither but possibly not as much as Chirs and Kat. The best for me was the point in the medley where she sung the tune I thought she should of last night as in last nights post, I would have really loved to hear her talk through the one part of the song.

That extra tune threw me too, but Rebecca (aka Mystique) I guess was forced to disclose her secret.

The thing that always "kills" me the most is when - even Randy - will say "it appears to be a popularity contest, WELL DUH. Isn't that the point once the contestants have made it this far proving they have the talent? Double DUH! As well I think it proved the point during the Medley that Kat picked the wrong songs. I just thought that she would be the least popular, and how fickle the public is, then able to overlook a poor performance. It maybe how good looking she is too, oh well - but I will have to completely agree, she is the best looking AI and even better looking then anyone I can think of in the music biz. Not oddly at all she kinda looks like Katherine Zeta-Jones / Douglas with a splash of Brittany Spears. Tanith, well that I can see why you would say that, but Kat has a IMO ..anh whatever. IDM

Prediction, being as you asked is Taylor. He is a "richly appealing person" that just never has a "I am the man" attitude persona about him. I am sure they are all set, and I would still be overjoyed if Kat does win - like I say, I LOVE IT WHEN THE GIRLS WIN!" - but Taylor and Elliot, I think more talented than Chris, same with Kat. Also I don't think that they are as "self focused" where they will all be better role model types then Chris would have.

Really just surprised the right choice was made, and last night was overlooked on Kat, but Chris I thought didn't do that great last night either.

Katharine may be beautiful, but last night she was totally outperformed by all 3 guys. The "Hound Dog/All Shook Up" medley was dreadful - we do a better job singing those songs at Karaoke - which is saying a lot (although we're not nearly as attractive as either Kat or Elvis). I'd like to see a girl win, but she should've gone home. Too bad for Chris. He's been consistently good in every performance - he deserved better. I wouldn't be surprised if Kat wins this whole thing, and her good looks will be her ticket. I have to root for Taylor now that Chris is out.

I've never seen Simon so speechless(or generally pissed). He was not expecting that and spent all season kissing rocker butt for no good reason lol

I was very surprised... as Elliot was just not as good as Chris vocally. I am getting really tired of the vibrato on every long note (and some of the short ones)... his vibrato tonight in the medly was not cool... he needs to quit channeling Carman Rassmusen right now! lol

Agree with Elliot needing to chill with the vibrato too. It is always more impressive to hear a man hit a note and hold it.

I am glad Elliot is still in the running; Actually, Katherine should have gone - Simon was right - or Taylor could have exited as well. I was very shocked that it ended up being Chris over Katherine. I figured the last two standing would be Elliot and Chris. At least they have talent. I guess, Taylor and Katherine are still there on a popularity vote. What else is new?

I think that Elliot should have gone home last night. He did have a good preformance but the overall package is not there. I am really getting to hate that vibrato thing he has going on every darn song he sings.

Yes, Kat had the worst performances this past week and probably should have been booted off but she has the goods to put an entire package together and sell it. I don't think that whomever is assisting her is giving her the best advice on songs, which key to sing in, etc. I am happy that she is still here but she had better get her act together this week and pull off some amazing material.

Taylor -- well --Taylor is Taylor. People either like him or they don't. He is kinda getting on my nerves as well but I would have allot of fun going to watch him live. I think that he better watch all the jumping around and worry about singing.

I was shocked to hear Chris's name last night. I was really sad to see him go and he really did look shocked. He was a great competitor and I really liked his singing. In fact, I had him and Kat in the final. But, that being said, I really think that he has a bright future ahead of him. The mic in the stand Bo Bice kind of entertainment was getting a bit old though.

Next week will be interesting. I haven't been into AI this much in many years so the next few weeks will be exciting.:yes:

I was pulling for Chris & am sorry he is gone. The one good thing about it for me is that I won't bother watching the rest of the shows as I no longer care who wins.

I think with the two songs a night Taylor is thriving because he can do a dancing upbeat number for those of us who love that style

and then he can calm himself and the crowd down and hit a tender note with the second song... he's done that the last couple of weeks and I think it's really helping him keep a huge fan base going...

I loved how relieved he looked when he and Elliot were told they were safe... too cute...

It may be that Elliot and Taylor go one two... which would be fine, I guess... but I dunno... we'll see...

Not to sound bitter because my favorite is gone, but...

When I look at the top three this season, I think that if you put any of them up against Kelly, Ruben, Fantasia, and Carrie they don't look too good. Heck, if you put them up against Justin, Clay, Diana, and Bo they don't look too good. My prediction is that Chris will still get a record deal and will outsell 2-3 of the people ahead of him.

I am sure you don't care to hear that I don't get Taylor again, so I won't say it. I totally agree with Tonichelle about Elliot and the vibrato, it makes me want to hide. I definitely agreed with Simon about Kat last night, I thought she was over the top in the first song, and i understood and agreed with the apple pie comment.

One last thing, is Paula getting weirder or is it just me?

In a stunning turn of events, Daughtry, who was the odds-on favorite to win the 'American Idol' competition, was booted last night.

Daughtry was on Ryan Seacrest's KISS FM radio show in Los Angeles this morning, where the 'A.I.' host, who is in on the secret, urged the singer to watch 'EXTRA' tonight.

TMZ knows the name of the band, but we're sworn to secrecy. But trust us, it's a big deal. Watch 'EXTRA' tonight.

As predicted I am sure it will be a band considered "Hard Rock" - - to use a vague term.

Still surprised that anyone would make the comment "should have been" (not stating names because it is allot) this is "who is Americas favorite", so "surprised" I understand (I am as well for my favorite NOW - was an Ace fan, he is from the same county and was featured in the news 3 or 4 years back - is surprised Katherine is still in there but happy none the less).

All of us should know, the most talented does not always win. For whatever reason, it doesn't matter on its own. I don't think Brittany Spears can dance and does not seem to be all that great of a gal - don't matter, More like her, that acutely comprise "that market" which makes her an Idol - sad but true.

And honestly I don't think it is all guys voting for her, there are a number of people who like female voices better (my self included, looking forward to Pairis singing anything she wants, that voice is awesome!), as well, the music she (Kat) is most suited for is contemporary pop which and large amount of the populous enjoys.

The basic foundation for AI is the one America wants the most. End of story. If it was a talent only contest then the Judges would be the only ones who decide. Also they all have talent or they would not be where they are to begin with.

I just hope my favorite now wins. The talent will be considered for "record deals" after the show. So I hope no one feels to bad - Ace is a celebrity around here now. And that is more then he went into it with
