Hmm I don't think it was a flutz either. She was on a clear outside edge but instead of deepening it at take off, it moves somewhat closer to the flat as the weight adjusts over to the picking foot but still on a shallow outside edge. Technically it is not a flutz but probably not the best lutz technique although the height, distance and flow is ++. I notice that Harding uses a very similar approach as well. I personally still prefer how Yuna Kim, Caro Kostner, Yebin Mok and Maria Butyrskaya actually held the outside edge all the way and deepening it even at take off - it leaves no room for doubt on flutzing. As the rules penalises ! or e, as long as the outside edge is visible at take off (even if shallow), it will be fine.
Agreed. It's not a severe flutz, but I think a tech specialist could arguably call it a ! (or say it was on a flat to give her benefit of the doubt).
