Cohen to be contortionist on reality TV Show!!!

Yay, Sasha -- she made it to the semi-finals!

Thanks for the reminder, Crazydreamer. The figure skating fans came through with their votes.

Glad Sasha made the semi-finals. I was surprised that Mya was voted off because I thought she had the best routine of the night. .

Sasha did well, but I thought Mya and her tap-dancing was better. In fact I thought Mya was going to beat Sasha, I am glad I was wrong. So, way to go Sasha

That show WAS tacky and Sasha looked out of place with the more experienced acrobats.

Clint Black could make it if he got some gag writers. He was the man for the semi finals.

Feel sorry for the would be tap dancer. She knew how to be the star in her group and she happened to be the best of the lot.

It seems one doesn't have to be the best. So many of her fans are happy she beat out the more talented one. Block voting ;)

What an imitator of a show...

The only highlight for me was Mya. She was darn good! She was the only one I voted for. How she didn't make it through, I don't know. But I think Sasha's going first helped her tremendously because that's probably when most people were watching (the audience likely declined as the show went on).

Cohen's act was definitely not a "Wow" thing for me. I already knew from watching her skate and seeing the SOI act how flexible she was...she didn't really go much further than that. Plus, it was clear that the other contortionists were much more natural and flexible than she was, and I think it showed in the performance. That said, it wasn't awful...just not deserving of moving on. It was just her block fan base stuffing the ballot- and probably made up a large portion of the audience tuning in (the show flopped in the ratings, non-surprisingly)

Won't be watching next week, that's for sure. Couldn't even watch this one completely through...

If I understand correctly Sasha won't be back on the show until the finals. Anyone have any idea when that would be?

Red Dog. Do you believe it we agree? Maybe Sasha had the longest time to get all her skating fans' votes. Poor Mya danced last and had about 2 minutes for getting any call-in votes.

Sasha is a contortionist. It's basically natural. No work involved.except learning a so so routine.but she didn't sell it! She could do better. I think she has a contortionist number in SOI. I'm sure she does it well there.

I had a feeling if the two of them switched places, and performed exactly the same way, we'd have a different semi-final. Kinda reminds me of that stupid Fox Sports poll back in 2002(?)- Cohen ended up winning over decidedly more popular (and attractive IMO) females. Why? Ballot stuffing. That girl has really dedicated fans, I must say.

I preferred her SOI routine but then again it was cool to see only in person. On TV the act completely fell flat for me. I really want to see Cohen incorporate some PERSONALITY and ATTITUDE into her skating. Sometimes her body language tells me she doesn't really want to be there, she's just doing what she's supposed to be doing and then collecting a paycheck, etc. OTOH, Kimmie Meissner really took me by surprise- she was the total opposite. She seemed thrilled to perform for her home crowd and we responded accordingly. (Cohen also got a huge reception being the star of the show, of course). But I digress.

Aw, stop picking on the girl, everybody. She had a unique and entertaining act. Would-be country singers, comedians and tap-dancers are a dime a dozen.

Everyone had an equal number of minues (about two ) to vote for their favorites (you couldn't vote for Sasha all during the hour, only for a couple of minutes after her performance, so there was no advantage to being first -- except perhaps what Red Dog said, that the show was so dreadful no one was watching after the first ten minutes.)

It's not Sasha's fault that she has a lot of fans. All of these vote-in things are popularity contests. Its up to us to show that figure skating fans rule the entertainment industry (don't forget to vote for Kristi on Dancing with the Stars, and don't forget to vote for Michelle when she runs for Congress next year. ;) )

But when you are allowed to vote multiple times, it transitions from being a numbers game to a dedication thing. Not simply that you are a fan of the celeb, but how much of a fan are you of that celeb (to vote for him/her more than once)? That's why shows like these are simply ridiculous. The best often doesn't win. American idol is the best example- the best singer has practically NEVER won from what I've seen.

Kelly won in the first season... Ruben and Clay were equal... Fantasia was teh best of the top 3... Carrie best female in season 4... Season 5 was a bit of a fluke I'll admit but at the same time my guy won lol... Season 6 was IMHO a bit like Season 2 where it could have gone either way

and so far (Save for Chikeze) this season is seeing the right person go at the right time...

Actually you can only vote during the commercial break for each person. If you came in late, you couldn't vote for Sasha. If you left early, you couldn't vote for Mya. I saw people saying vote for Sasha now online, but when I went there it was too late. By the time I read that post and went to the site it was waiting for Clint Black's commercial break. When it was his voting window, you could either vote "yes" or "no" which I thought was interesting - that you could cast negative votes. I being in the Pacific time zone didn't realize that they announced the ones moving on live at the end of the show. I waited for the show to be on in my time zone and went back online to find the voting was closed. So if I want to vote I have to be online at 7:00 my time and vote for people I haven't seen! I'm glad Sasha moved on, but this show is pretty bad. I'll only watch it when Sasha's on again!
