Daisuke Takahashi

Part two of Bev Smith's article is up! This one's about the process of creating the choreography for Dai's SP:

Who's excited for Dai-chan's new programs? :yahoo:

Thank you for that informative article! If only they would make a documentary of the process. Just seeing the pictures and reading especially this part give me so much excitement and anticipation:

But he feels a comfort working with Wilson. “The way he picks up a note [in the music], I’m thinking: ‘Yes! I get it! I get it!’ And I can get into it really smoothly,” Takahashi said. “I feel like he is able to bring out the person that I am, in my most natural state.”

We can't wait to see you in your "natural state", Daisuke!:yay::hap85:

Daisuke announced his programs on his website!

SP: The Sheltering Sky by Ryuichi Sakamoto
FS: Pale Green Ghosts by John Grant (with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra)

Ooh, Ryuichi Sakamoto music! . The cinematic piece invokes dramatic moods & wistful feelings that would make a really moving number. Can't wait to see Dai skate to this music!

BTW, not trying to make anyone sad, but came upon this clip with Denis & Dai and just had to share (tears):

"denis ten was trying to tell us since 2015 that dai would return but no one INCLUDING DAISUKE believed in him"

I am not kidding myself...I would have enjoyed Daisuke skating to any music or plain silence. It was clear he wouldn't choose a warhorse. These choices are cool! Can't wait, please someone film those sectionals.

The latest IFS magazine article on Daisuke:

Richaud wrote to Takahashi and said he would like to do a program for him. Takahashi accepted the offer. He said it is a new style with unique choreography.

The Japanese star will begin his comeback debut at the Kinki Championships, which begin October 5 in Japan.

:yay::yay::yay::yay:

The October issue will have an exclusive interview.

On YouTube, too.

How much I missed his skating. His edge work is like making love to the ice.

Thank you! So much better to watch on YT. Can you translate what he said and if the caption at the end mentioned 2 kinds of quad?

You get a gold star for the bolded description.

This interview from the Olympic Channel is not on YouTube, though:

DAISUKE TAKAHASHI TELLS US ABOUT HIS RETURN TO COMPETITIVE FIGURE SKATING!

P.S. An artistic fan already drew a nice piece of artwork to "The Sheltering Sky".

For Dai's skating (competition or show), if the camera man could just resist the urge to zoom in on Dai's handsome face and let me see all of him, especially his feet, I won't need any music. I fell in love with a silent clip of his new long program, after all.

Good to see that gorgeous triple axel. :)

IFS Magazine tweeted about 2 hours ago: A short clip of Daisuke Takahashi new short program for the 2018-2019 season, "The Sheltering Sky" (with music). This caused an overload of traffic on the site, disabling the link - "Resource Limit is Reached". That's what happens when you entice Dai fans! :gaah:

Meanwhile, we have these to appease our hunger:

Thirst quencher: B&W practice footage from Courchevel. Those fabulous arm movements! :luv17:
Working on choreography with Benoit Richaud.

Eye candy: Vogue Japan pics.

Coffee, anyone?
