Dance - Compulsory Dance - Rhumba

edges+ the obvious mistake= gold medal for David Dore

I think the comments about Canadians are unfair, as we have not seen the skate and by Rosaleen comments it seemed they skated quite well and she is trying to be picky about comments for all skaters, as we all know it sometimes comes down to the smallest of margines. I am skating fan of all skater from all countries and I am personal not a fan of David Dore but it about the skaters. Comments connecting skaters and unpopular representives, judges, isu member etc. is unfair no matter what country your from. Every country has some bad eggs, it should not take away from the athletes.

Well i watched the copmetiotion and this 1.6 difference from all the other teams is nothing more then ridiculous...with an obvious and important mistake...But i see that you're from canada so i don't expect you to agree:rofl:

You are so wrong, I would not want the canadians to win if it is not deserved, it is a three part competition and lots can change. I want the best team to win it gives merit to the sport, maybe they do not deserve first but I was not at ice level and TV does not give ice dance justice. As I have been to worlds and internationals and Nationals and can honestly say that seeing it live give you a whole new respect for dance. My comment was to do with putting down a dance team because because of what country they represent. Technical comment are great keep it about skating, may the best team win. I am a true skating fan it's all about respect for the athletes it does not matter what country they are from.;) Its about great skating!!!

D&L in first and the complaining begins. What a shocking surprise.

As for their OD, yes, I'd agree it's their weakest event if they had kept the OD they had at the beginning of the season. The one they debuted at the GPF is very strong and I hope they skate the lights out w/it.

Thank you very much for the reports Rosaleen.

Thanks for the live reports Rosaleen, and well done to D&L. I hope that the French can move into a podium position after the OD and FD.

yes, I'm Canadian so I'm biased, BUT I have been waiting for D&L to win for almost a decade so I'm "tickled pink" they are in first. I hope they can hold on and acheive their goal.

As for them being in first...they've always had a strong CD.

I hesitate to comment since I haven't seen the competition yet and last time I did that I wound up with a few crow feathers hanging out of my mouth after I had a chance to actually view the event.

But here goes..... Some are talking like D/L have a huge, insurmountable lead. Less than two points, people, calm down. Even in ice dance, with the two most valuable (points-wise) sections to come, it's anybody's game. Any of the top five could be on or off the podium.

I think some of the vitriol against D/L is a bit over the top. They moved to another country simply to break down and re-work their technique.... they said it would take a few years before the benefit would start to show — now it is. They are dedicated and hard-working and great ice dancers. I'm pleased for them should they continue to do well. And yeah, I'm from Canada too, to you can work me into the conspiracy if you like.

I think that you are all going over the top on D/L in first place after the CD. My goodness it is only the first skate of a three skate event. They are top contenders in this event, like it or not. However, you never know what will happen out there....remember the Olympics. Relax, it is not over until the last skate is judged. Good Luck to D/L and V/M......Stay positive....

I'm not that upset about the CD results. The top five are virtually tied with D/L further ahead. Anything can happen in the OD & FD. I just hope G/P or D/W can move up so that the US can get 3 spots again for next year. I'm actually surprised at G/P's placement; I hope they can move up. I love B/A and hope they medal, but I wouldn't be too surprised or distraught if they didn't. It's a shame that they couldn't have had the Amelie program from the beginning. I hope they keep it for next season.

Well i watched the competition and i must say D/L had the most obvious mistake( of course if we can say that the others from the top 4 had mistakes- which i am not sure about) and they are with a 1.5 on the top, when the other top skater are in between 0.4 points, so don't tell me this is not a big margin. But i am not surprised of the results, as some officials commentated in Warsaw that D/L will be the new champions and the current european champions Del/S will be not more then 4th... Strangly or not so, everything heard is happening... Too many people with extraordinary skills or long-time ago arranged podium? :chorus: Your pick??

Hmmmm. Going in, everyone talks about how the Russians have arranged everything so that they win, mostly because they were pissed off that Den and Sta didn't win Europeans, and declared it was a sop to the French. It got to the point where I was a worried when Dom and Shab took the ice, though in the end, I think at the very least, the scorings of the scrunched-up four were fair.
And then suddenly, even though the Russians are in a spot where they could take the victory and it look plausible, because some random other team was about two marks ahead of them in the CD so obviously it *couldn*t have been rigged(diversion tactic, anyone?), everyone's talking about how they knew it all along, that everyone knew the Canadian VP was going to rig it, that everyone had heard(strange, I hadn't), and not a murmur about Russian backroom people anymore.
People, if you're going to be conspiracy theorists, at least be consistant!

 I think they have made David Dore an honorary Russian. (I hope it helps Johnny Weir. ;) )

Well you can first read my posts and then say if i have said that everything is arranged for Dom/S. If you find such a post you'll do a miracle...
I am not responsible for what the others have said, i said in an other topic-the Euro one i think, that i had this information, and i wrote it right after the end of Europeans...
The backroom deals of the russian fed are soo discussed and well known that i think the people are bored about this. And by the way the russian lobby is doing his best here also, otherwise no way Dom/S would place above Del/S but it won't be enough for the gold.
David Dore russian....  doesn't look like this so far ...
