It's hard to imagine that Deanna Stlelato-Dudek plans to compete into the next Olympic cycle. Good for her if she does, but she will be 46 in 2030, plus there is the citizenship issue to resolve.

But what a great ice show act she and Danny O'Shea could bring -- all full of crowd thrilling head-bangers, Detroits and other adagio content.

For the record, I was NOT hating on Danny and Ellie. I merely stated what many were thinking. Were it not for repeated falls on side by sides and throw triples I think the team would have accrued more medals and had more success. As I said in my post, I think Ellie is darling and fearless and does exceptionally well in lifts, etc. And Danny has always been patient and supportive. I hope whatever the two of them do, either together or separately, they find happiness. And Blissful, you DO come off as being very opinionated and knowing everything about pairs. That's really okay, but some of us have opinions, too.

I think Ellie is darling and she's fearless but after all these years she still can't land a darn triple and her throw triples are iffy at best.

We all have opinions (fs fans are known to have strong opinions) and sometimes we can word things in an exaggerated way that's inaccurate. While it might seem as if Ellie can't land any triple jumps because she has had a lot of trouble mastering sbs triples, it's not true that "she still can't land a darn triple."

Ellie has consistently landed the triple salchow in sps, though she may not have done it 100% at the Olympics. She hasn't been perfect every time, but she has been more consistent on sbs triples than she has ever been on triple throws. She can also be inconsistent on combo jumps in the fp. But, it has been triple throws that have been her biggest challenge, which she began to turn around at 2025 Skate Canada. Ellie & Danny won the 2025 SC bronze medal over Lia & Trennt by Ellie surprisingly landing (with a deep knee bend) both triple throws in the fp.

Of course, everyone who is a fan of Ellie & Danny have been frustrated by Ellie's struggles with triple throws and initially with sbs triple jumps. She began to land the sbs triple salchow fairly consistently after working with Bruno Marcotte, and bolstered by Danny's full support and belief in her. For sure, Kam/ O'Shea could have competed regularly for top podiums had Ellie already learned triple jumps and throws with mastery before she partnered with Danny. But she was just out of juniors and in the early stages of learning, so the process was harder. There's always gonna be 'What ifs?' in life. Reality is what we all have to deal with. K/O won two bronze medals on the 2025 GP and they helped the U.S. figure skating team win the Olympic gold medal. Luck, hard work, and commitment to each other got them there.

Ellie & Danny have been one of my favorite pairs teams in recent years, so I've followed their journey closely. I'm an older fs fan so I've witnessed a great deal during my fandom, but I certainly do not know everything. I'm happy to be corrected whenever I state something in error. OTOH, differing opinions are par for the course among fs fans.

Yes, probably so. Everything is speculation at this point. The rumor that got this thread started is unconfirmed. I agree with you that Deanna has indicated she's 'keeping her options open.' She definitely has a fierce drive and passion for competition. Whether or not tryout rumors are for real, it does not equate to those rumored to be trying out actually partnering. The person who started this rumor has been posting a lot of claims, some of which have proven to be completely wrong. I have also seen fans on sm expressing a belief that Danny wants to land a gig on DWTS. I think that would be great if it happens. It would be so much fun to watch. If Ellie does not return to competitive skating, seemingly she and Danny would continue appearing in shows over Danny hooking up with someone else for shows.

So it was them? I don't get to see all the American skaters and don't know them all by sight or name. Couldn't remember if it was that pair or another, but I was pretty sure a freak fall like that happened in the US, and a recent year at least.

They did. It was either Wichita or Columbus. It was right in front of where I was sitting.
