Deniss Vasiljevs

In The Loop also did an interview with Stéphane, he talks a bit about Deniss after 8.15!

Stephane: And of course, Deniss [Vasiljevs] is my student, I choreographed his free program with a Japanese contemporary dancer Kenta Kojiri. We worked on that “Last Samurai” program when we were in Latvia, in Deniss’ hometown. Yeah, Deniss was really excited to skate to a Japanese themed program. He loves Japan and when he’s interested in something, he puts so much heart into the work, so it was fantastic to do this choreography with him and with Kenta. We were putting a lot of images in that program; it’s always great to see how big his imagination is.

Clara: Yeah, you can tell he’s really feeling it when he skating it.

Stéphane: Exactly, full of creativity; he’s a very creative boy and you just have to open the door of creativity and he just throws things at you that you cannot even imagine; it’s amazing.

Thank you very very much to do such a fantastic interview with Deniss!!! I am Deniss’s Chinese fan, and I wonder if I could translate this interview and post it on Weibo? Thank you very much!

You are all very very welcome and I am happy for everyone who enjoyed that interview and can see what a precious person Deniss is ❤️

I am a bit melancolic right now... because that interview happened now exactly one week ago... I’d love to relive that whole weekend all over, because it was so speciall... with that meeting being the ultimate highlight!

Of course you can translate it to chinese. But.. I‘ve gotten a request on facebook already from someone who wants to do the same... also wanted to translate it for weibo... I guess you don’t need to do that work twice. Maybe write me a PM or message me on facebook (you find me easily in the Deniss Fangroup) and you can connect with that girl who wanted to do the same.. so maybe you can work together :)

Thank you very much for telling me this! I’m so glad that someone already begin the translation because it is such a great interview! It is such a great thing to share it to more people!(heart

Thank you! Amazing job.

Looking at the Golden Spin entries I would say it's going to be quite a serious competition (Jason, Russians, Bychenko, young Grassl...). I wonder if we see Deniss with Robert as a coach for the first time

You are very welcome!

I would bet that Stéph will be with Deniss and Luke (is Matilda also there, don‘t know right now) and that Rob will be in Vancouver... just because it‘s a routine.. Koshiro is used on going with Rob to the competitions. It’s probably even better for him not to change too much. Same goes for Deniss of course even though I would definitely say that Koshiro has the more important competition this weekend...
well we‘ll see. but my bet is Stéph with Deniss and Rob with Koshiro ;)

Actually, Stephane has told in the interview that he will be with Koshiro...

I also remember reading that Stephane will go with Koshiro to the GPF and the Japanese Nationals.

Alright, let‘s see... it will indeed be a bit strange not to see Stéph next to Deniss in the Kiss and Cry ;) but Koshiro deserves Stéphs attendance for sure :)

"Tokyo love story" sounds intriguing and I'd like to know what's (if anything) connected with it ;) (just a teaser to this TV video on Champery School of Skating, with Deniss starring from 1:17  :luv17:).

I highly doubt Stephane is the reason Deniss withdraw. Champery has other coaches that could have gone with him instead of Stephane. I’m concern that he withdrew due to an injury and I REALLY wish that I’m wrong (please skating god, let me be awfully wrong)... Anyway, I just hope he is fine whatever the reason is.
