Deniss Vasiljevs

On LV TV the Latvian Euro Champs judge Agita Ābele was asked what the cause of the failed jumps might be. She reckons he shouldn't perform so much in shows before serious competitions, because it doesn't work on Deniss' technique but rather on his strongest sides - grace and artistry. She might be right, but there is just a dilemma. :think: Money is badly needed and the shows give him much joy and also practice. But he hasn't participated much in competitions, though.

It was also mentioned that they had planned to "break'' into the skating elite this season. It means everything is ahead. :cheer:
 
In his fan meeting Stephane said and it has been announced now that Deniss is participating in Tyrol. I'm pretty excited about it. It means I'll see his programs two more times. There is one thing I clearly know - I want to see a flawless Samurai program. He still has enough time to master it. :clap:

I can't make up my mind what I want to see next season. :think: I wanted something dramatic and I got it. There is nothing to say about the choice of music, they will decide themselves. I reckon that as judges adore sports-style performances, maybe it is worth creating this kind of program, something choreographically athletic.

I want him to wish-practice as hard as you can! Do all the best you can! And don't forget about confidence, Deniss! :luv17:
 
Good news from Deniss' native city Daugavpils!

On Friday an award ceremony for “Sports laureate 2018.” was held.

The best athlete - Deniss!! :2thumbs: This is the second time he has been recognized as Daugavpils' best athlete. He deserves it.

He was also acknowledged as the most popular athlete of the year.:luv17:
 
What a fantastic video! How many young skaters really put that much thought into their own programs and costumes - and can express all of it so articulately, not even in their native tongue? I'm eternally grateful for his passion and creativity. And I love the program even more now that I see how much it means to him. :)
 
I happened to open TeamChampery and found an interview with Koshiro about Stephane and it turned out that he mentions also Deniss. I can't get that Deniss bakes so much!? Although I love baking, I don't do it often because it leaves a bad impact on my family members' figures. I wonder what about him? :laugh:

They don't look like they eat much sweets, the team Champery members, do they? So I would say Koshiro was joking - or Deniss makes a lot of experiments (no sugar, gluten-free etc.) while baking, with mixed (read: uneatable) results :laugh:

What I like the most is the project of Stephane-Deniss-Koshiro joint exhibition, and Koshiro's words:" We three have about the same height now, but you know what, Deniss’ body has got exceptionally beautiful curves!" :dbana:

I wish they really did it. It could be a very interesting project. By the way, Koshiro has got a good sense of humour. :agree2:


I wish Deniss good luck! The competition is not tough and I hope he does nicely both programms. It will raise his self-confidence!
 
Deniss won! :) The score 156,85 and 2 deductions. The gap between the 7th place not that big 145.57.
 
SB in FS (156.85) despite two falls and 1st place (238.08, also SB). Congratulations!

The Last samurai program is so beautiful that it deserves to be skated clean at least once ;) Would be great at WC :cheer:

Deniss' skating is so intensive that I got feeling the ice rink is too small for him.

And some extra point: one-man-show before the victory ceremony :rofl: Hope somebody made a video of Deniss jumping and spinning clockwise. And his knee and butt spins. And knee slides. Seriously, he did his best to make the waiting time as short as possible :laugh:.
