Deniss Vasiljevs

Thanks for the translation icetug! Even when it isn’t new information, I like hearing these things. And thanks for the comments on the quads, lavender blossom. I remember Deniss saying they had to work on the technique for his toe, but hadn’t noticed the prerotation. And Agnes, I agree with being curious about the whole team!

As someone who gets into the whole 'I have to know as much about this person as possible pit', I have learned how to navigate social media much better than before. First trying to follow all of Deniss' social media and then the fan sites (I have never used Google translate so much before) and then the team. My Twitter timeline has never looked so unorganized. I am very thankful for the translators on this site. :)

An interview with Deniss. In this one, it says that Deniss plans to study at a sport academy in Riga after high school first, then study management in Switzerland after he finishes skating. That's new! :o

I dunno about the headline, google gives "My whole life is imprisoned for figure skating ..." It's probably not correct, but I hope he doesn't actually feel trapped.
Again with the questions about his private life?! Let him live, omg

Deniss speaks very eloquently. Cool :luv17:

I wonder if the lion plush he was talking about was the one Diana was sleeping on on the plane.

There are really interesting questions at the end.

- Your dream of happiness.

- And you can ask - what is happiness for a person? Now I do not know ... I live by the present moment and I do everything possible so that the future moment would become for me even more productive, successful and filled with bright colors.

When I did Google Translate I also got the same headline but I think it is probably a 'lost in translation' kind of headline. At least the questions and answers made sense. Happy they were not all questions we have heard before. With the question about being an adult this question can be answered various ways. Being an adult doesn't always mean living on your own. 'Adult' responsibilities come into play with this question. Living away from home probably helps a great deal with learning to be a more independent person even considering that he lives with Stephane. That makes me think how Stephane is not only trying to teach Deniss to be a great skater but a great man, which was mentioned in a couple previous interviews.

Actually I like the interview. :)

The heading means -my whole life is subject to figure skating. He could also say - Figure skating is the most important thing in my life.

I was so happy when I read this- I will definitely jump quads! :hap85:

The lion Diāna is sleeping on on the plane is Deniss'. It was thrown on the ice at Euros. She says he didn't want to give it to her. Obviously she won.
It seems that Diāna will continue training in Champery.

I want to add that they were very lucky with the weather. Usually the beginning of May is not so warm (even hot), so sunny and there is not so much greenery around. During the breaks they could go out to the beautiful park (it was mentioned by Stephane) and relax.

Deniss and Stéphane are skating a duet to Chopin!

I was already loving it when I thought it was Stéphane’s new program, but then Deniss joined and I almost fell out of my chair. It’s so gorgeous. The side by side 3lz, the spread eagles...and all the subtle moves and coordination that you only get working together regularly.

It’s so rare to have a duet where the skaters get to practice together long enough to make it complex and polished (and this they said isn’t finished, but it’s already so good). I hope we see the full thing at FaoI but I feel so blessed to have seen this work in progress!

It's so beautiful... goodness me.

I don't have words.

I also really, really hope we see the full version soon.

Off topic, but today at work (I work at a Starbucks) I swear I saw someone who looked almost identical to Deniss, Messy hair and all. The only difference was this person was a little shorter than Deniss. I spent a good two minutes just trying to stare a little longer.

Wow, who knew my joke about it being a duet is becoming true :shocked::shocked: Honestly though, I wasn't expecting a duet AT ALL. I should be a fortune teller :v
Even if it somehow later becomes either only Stephane's or Deniss' program, I'm already VERY happy to see this duet in the video :D
PLEASE FAOI, MAKES THE DUET HAPPEN!
