Deniss Vasiljevs

Official announcement Daugavpils Olimpiskais Centrs :)
Wow, it's going to be much greater event then I expected  The camp run by coaches from USA, Japan and Switzerland (not only Stephane?) - doesn't the google translator mislead me?!
Congratulations to Daugavpils - and Deniss' mother :)

Well, from looking around on Twitter, it sounds like Kenta Kojiri and Ghislain Briand are coming with them, and they should be bringing the other Skating School coaches because there's no ice in Champery right now... but then who is the coach from USA? hmmm
This is fantastic news. I wonder if people will be allowed to watch, or if any media will be covering it...

Well, Robert Dierking and Lesli Wiesner are from the USA, perhaps that's who they mean. But who knows. I am sure they will have some media coverage.

edit - omg, look at Deniss's new hairstyle in his Instastories! I think I like it...

His instagram update https://www.instagram.com/p/Bh_skMoFLIh/

NOOOOOOOOOO :bang: I was afraid he would cut it short! I guess it's better for summer... but I liked how it was before... :( He still looks very handsome, which is kind of maddening in itself... he looks a lot like Leonardo diCaprio from The Great Gatsby now lol

Speaking of instagram, he forgot to update his instagram profile.
The Daugavpils Olympic Centre athletes page doesn't look like it's been updated in a while either - it still has Urmanov listed as his coach.

All I can say - it’s fantastic, surprising, amazing + 20 more similar words!!! I can't imagine anything like this could happen in Daugavpils. And at that level!

If people are allowed to watch all this, I'm going there for sure, at least for one day. Actually I am willing to peep through the keyhole to see this event !

Don’t worry, Lavenderblossom. For a moment I was also shocked, because he looks really unusual, but in time we'll get used to it. After all, our boy has grown to be a gentleman. It happened so fast! The hair grows fast as well (in case he doesn't like himself).

And I want to say thank you to all those who have taken and posted so beautiful, expressive Deniss' photos and snapshots. :thank:

I'm pretty sure he likes it, he's made it his new avatar now :slink: and he finally changed his instagram bio to match the Twitter one.

By the way, AgnesR, congrats on reaching 100 posts!

edit: gah I forgot again! :palmf:
Deniss was interviewed in the Japanese magazine "World Figure Skating", May 2018 issue. I wonder if there's a way to get a hold of it, though the tweet says it's a short interview, I'd still like to know what he said. The caption makes it sound quite interesting...

I discovered that this is not the first time Deniss has [SUB]made this terrible mistake[/SUB] had this haircut.
The video, from September 2015, is about students on their first day of school. Surprisingly there are subtitles! Although it goes by very quickly you can pause to pick up the gist of what he said.

Hope you manage to visit Daugavpils these days and share with us what you'll see and hear - as they are going to work on new programmes! Probably it will be the first time we will be able to know something about them

Now it's a little bit different haircut, with quite long fringe (what is noticeable at the instastory photo). I must say I like it - it brings out the line of Deniss neck :luv17:
This hairstyle is visibly the Figaro's Barbershop speciality :p but reminds also Conrad Orzel's haircut. This said, I am waiting for Stephen Gogolev to have the same haircut so as all three handsome blondes have the fancy hairstyle ;)

The Men's FS Group 3 from Worlds is up, ft. B ESP commentators fanboying over Deniss again  in case anyone missed Deniss's FS.

Nice to hear of Chris hinting that two time WC Lambiel is possibly coaching a future World Champion. With each passing World Championship, with Deniss putting in stronger performances, it is looking more and more likely :)

Fingers crossed  I really believe that if he gets the quads he can do it. He's the most well-rounded of the up-and-comers, with high-quality jumps, excellent spins, wonderful SS and incredible musicality and performance skills. And the judges have indicated with his Worlds scores that when he's clean they'll go with him on the +GOE.
(I must say though that that's Simon speaking, not Chris. Simon's voice is a little deeper. ;))
