I haven't seen this yet, but I am so thrilled for Donovan! I hope the rest of his season goes extremely well. He's worked so hard for this.

I imagine the stress with this qualifier was actually way more intense than even the Olympics, since there were the five places on the line, he desperately wanted one, and it affected his free. With the Olympics he's not a podium contender so the pressure will be to do his best and his country proud.

I suppose that his objective for Olympics will be, like in Beijing, to get to the Free Skating? Fair scoring would help him greatly; in Beijing, at the very least he ought to have been two places ahead.

I just hope he can have a better place at the Olympics this time, he is very good with his shot program but in the free he often lacks energy and ends up with a low score. I really like his short program, he's having fun while he skates and you feel the same emotion watching him
