Doug sat behind us at the first San Jose Nationals and gave us a lot of inside info. He even taped Johnny Weir on his phone saying "hi" to me. Super nice guy. My condolences to his family,

I remember Debi Thomas jokingingly telling reporters about appreciating the stuffies but really wanting a pizza. Doug Mattis gave her a pizza instead of a stuffie at Nationals one year.
