Dutch Figure Skating 2025-26

What score do Danilova and Tsiba actually need to satisfy your fed? I'm starting to get concerned, because they haven't got out of the 150s yet this season.
I can't remember the exact number right now but it's above 170.

I mean, Germany did that too, our teams had to achieve a certain amount of points...but it's not like "You'll have to do it at competition X or at competition Y or you're out" - they've got the complete first half of the season until Nationals. Still pressure, sure, but not like "If we don't do it now we only have one more chance!"
I'm really really sad for them 😢
I think the German fed has been realistic in the scores it set, and having the A and B scores also potentially reduces the pressure - it's one really good skate or two more average ones.

Definitely. Nothing unrealistic for the teams that will (very likely) go to Milan. Minerva and Nikita cleared the A score in their first competition and Annika/Robert and Jennifer/Benjamin got the B score in their first two.

Time for something different, even though I continue to wish Daria and Michel to go to the OG.

At the NRW trophy next weekend, a traditional Dutch hotspot for some reason:
3 Dutch women in Seniors: Niki Wories, Julia van Dijk, and Jolanda Vos.
3 Dutch Junior Women as well: Angel Delavaque, Lucca Dijkhuizen, and Kahlan Gooijer.
4 Dutch girls in Adv Novice: Floor van der Pas, Jipp van Poorten, Summer Wijkhuizen, and Lilia Zhang.
1 Dutch boy in Adv Novice: Leon Lo
Chelsea and Sherim will compete in ID as well.

Probably because it's close to the Netherlands geographically 😁looking forward to see Lucca and Kahlan, and wishing Jolanda a better outing here than she had at Lombardia. I remember being really heartbroken for her when I watched.

That's true. I remember travelling there to watch and not being allowed in (it was COVID time but they hadn't warned me off). Often used as a selection moment. No pairs though this time (and I wouldn't have wanted Daria and Michel to compete any way).

Time for a little update from NRW trophy in Dortmund. I'll stick to the events which have finished and will come back later on for other events:

In adv novice boys Leon Lo has once again won with quite a margin (more than 30 points more than nr. 2) 🥇 with in total 136.66 points.
In adv novice girls Summer Wijkhuizen was 9th with 90.81 points, Lilia Zhang was 17th with 83.97 points, Floor van der Pas was 23rd with 77.79 points, and Jipp van Poorten was 26th with 72.45 points.
Well done every one! :cheer::cheer::cheer:

On to juniors:
In jr women Angel Delavaque was 6th with 156.52 points, Lucca Dijkhuizen was 7th with 143.66 points, and Kahlan Gooijer was 27th with 104.91 points.

Well done all! :hap10::hap10::hap10:

More results during the weekend!

Some results from the NRW trophy where, as usual, there was quite a substantial Dutch presence.

In sr women the gold 🥇 went to Niki Wories with 153.93 points, Jolanda Vos was 8th with 104.41 points, and Saskia Oudejans was 10th with 82.45 points. Regrettably Julia van Dijk had to withdraw.
Chelsea Verhaegh and Sherim van Geffen were 10th in ID with 143.63 points.

The results of other disciplines with Dutch skaters have allready been mentioned in an earlier post.

Well done everybody! :hap10::hap10::cheer::cheer::laugh3:

I hadn't even noticed beforehand but I did see the results. Niki Wories was at Warsaw Cup this weekend, ended in 11th place, with 148.25 points. Less points than a week ago, but that can happen in back-to-back events. Well done Niki! :hap10: :hap10: :laugh3:

Chelsea and Sherim are scheduled to compete in ID at the Bosphorus Cup, Turkeye (27th-30th of November).
Saskia Oudejans is scheduled to compete at the women's event there.
Summer Wijkhuizen will skate in the Adv Novice girls.

Good luck to all!

Summer Wijkhuizen is in 4th place after the SP with 34.43 points in the adv novice girls at the Bosphorus Cup in Turkiye. Let's hope she keeps this up! :hap10: :hap10:

I mentioned in one of the earlier posts that Julia van Dijk had withdrawn from NRW trophy. Sadly her foot injury is so bad again that she won't be able to skate for quite a while. Surgery is forseen in January, but this season is lost. Poor Julia, she had already missed so much due to injury and really was on the way back (attaining PB's for example). She is confident to come back again, but this is so frustrating. I wish her all the best.

Source (in Dutch, I have translated the gist):

At the Bosphorus Cup, Summer Wijkhuizen ended in 4th place with 92.53 points in the adv novice girls discipline. She definitely kept it up since the SP, since she was 3rd in the FS. Just not enough points to rise in placement. Well done Summer! :love4: :cheer::love4:

Saskia Oudejans was 18th in the sr women. :hap10: :hap10: :cheer:

Chelsea and Sherim were 13th in ID. :cheer: :cheer:

Golden Spin of Zagreb is always a popular challenger among the Dutch, and this year is no different:

Two entrees in women - Niki Wories and Jolanda Vos
Our Pair - Dara Danilova and Michel Tsiba (and they are under pressure to attain a certain amount of points)
Our ID couple - Chelsea Verhaegh and Sherim van Geffen

Here's an article on that last chance for Daria and Michel:

Summary in English (original in Dutch)
The season is not going so well for now. They were very proud of themselves to have achieved qualification for the OG during World's last year. However, although they are trying to remain enthusiastic, the pink elephant is never far away (that's how they call the extra pressure the Dutch Olympic Committee has put on them). It might still happen, but there is a minimum points requirement. What happens it they nearly get it? Anyone's guess for now.
