Ekaterina Kurakova

Is she not planning on returning to Canada to train then? I wonder if she will permanently switch to Lorenzo Magri as its closer to home and traveling from Poland to Italy is far easier in this current covid world and cost of training will be far lower than in cricket club under Orser.

Either way hopefully where ever she ends up training, she can return to her 19-20 shape and win an olympic spot at Nebelhorn Trophy!
It's not about the costs but COVID. She has a sponsor but doesn't have the opportunity to cross the Canadian border. For now she is thinking only about Olympic qualification in Oberstdorf and, as she need a coach by her side, Lorenzo Magri is the best option.
We will see what the COVID situation will be after Oberstdorf. Then she will decide what to do next.

But you are right - she definitely can return to previous shape! The passion is still in her.

Ekaterina’s second program at the Mentor Torun Cup gala was very personal and full of emotions.
She was skating to Valse sentimentale, Op.51, No.6.

Not sure if they were posted yet but here are her two performances:

Just beautiful. I hope she gets to a stable coaching environment soon, no matter where. This season must have been so hard for her.

Congratulations to lovely Katia for her silver medal and giving way to no one except for incredible Alysia Liu! Well done, girl!
PS Yes, the judges might pay less atention to the size of her fed and more to the charm of her presence on the ice....
