Elizaveta Tuktamysheva

I guess she really needs 3A now... judges give her quite low PCS.

I didn't see much transition, but yeah low PCS - judges giving her a message ?

one thing, they nullified all her previous reputation as a World Champion.....
that 2Axel fall costed her the gold. But This year she is better form than in 2015.

TR is just one of 5 components. I guess Liza has to upgrade her layout slowly. Still this is better than 2 weeks earlier already

Only second place - but she really gave that performance all she got; things will hopefully just keep on getting better. Cheer up, Liza - I think this program will only keep on growing in power.:)
Overall, still a step in the right direction I think.
But I hope they will switch the 3S-2T to something else.

She looks far more confident and "into" her programs than last year, I think. It wasn't perfect, of course, but I didn't feel as if the mistakes were caused by nerves getting to her. She just doesn't feel as if she's quite back into prime shape yet.

Last year it looked like the programs were a burden to her (I don't mean physically but psychologically), this showing at Nebelhorn didn't feel that way at all.

Agree, and at least she has landed 3T3T back, now she needs to be more consistent as the season goes. Actually this season she only needs to be somewhat ok, no WC is not much of a big deal, she will aim for Olympic season.

Yup, 3-3 was very important.

Her PCS will go up if she keeps skating cleanish throughout the season. It's not 100% how it should be but it absolutely is how it is. I'm not worried about that.

On a shallow note, her costume is beautiful!

that and some of her jumps were shaky today...
she also needs to gain more speed, she was slow in her skating and it impacted her PCS too...

can't help but compare her career to Miki Ando's

Watching the award ceremony before, Liza, to me, looked gracious... and regal - every inch the Queen.:)

Now, I'll freely admit that it might be my imagination - or wishful thinking - but there seems to me to be an air of calm serenity about Liza that was very much lacking last season.

I think it's just more manageable music. The programs last season were so ambitious in how EPIC and LOUD they were, I think they'd be tough for anyone to embody without getting insanely stressed out listening to that music for months on end.

Cleopatra is a character Liza can settle into rather than aspire up to, and it's a program I can see her improving and augmenting the way she did with Bollywood in 2015. There were little choreographic touches she added by Europeans/Worlds that weren't there in Nebelhorn, so I'm thinking we could see the same thing should the jumps stay intact.

I would like to see her bring back the loop, especially without the 3A. Kihira just did an 8-triple program with a 3A in juniors this weekend, and Liza's probably the only other skater with the ability to pull a FP off with that level of content. That's a longterm dream, though.

You are probably right about her programs - I wasn't really talking about her performances, though, but her attitude in general, as at the award ceremony, for example.

And again, I freely admit that maybe I'm just seeing what I want to see.:)

Of course they will...
As soon as Liza will be able to consistently land 3a, 3S-2T will be switched into 3S-2a

The Liza part:

Tuktamisheva, who fell to eighth place in Russia last season, settled for the silver medal with 185.93 points. After leading off her Cleopatra free skate a high double axel, she performed six clean triple jumps but fell on her second double axel at the end of the routine.

"I am very pleased," Tuktamisheva said. "This is a big step forward since my first test competition in Russia some weeks ago. To avoid the [fall] at the end of my program, I have to stay more focused."

Tuktamisheva did not try her most famous element, the triple axel, this week.

"My plan is to include the triple axel in the free program again in later competitions," Tuktamisheva said. "This would mean that some other elements will change."
