Europeans Ladies' Short

I was very impressed with Lepisto. She is so smooth, every move she makes looks beautiful. Same with Vahamaa, where did she come from? She is gorgeous! Shame she missed her combo, she could have made the top ten. She is very yo!

Vahamaa and Lepisto have the same coach. I must say, that she does amazing work for her skater's basics, posture and flow. She is young and I read she was injured, and I'm sure that she's disappointed with her skate, but I hope she can bounce back tomorrow.

And since when really clean but less difficult jumps are being rewarded?? This is the first time I see that in years...really....

It's happened all season.

Let's do the comparison with Korpi: there is a HUGE difference in attack and interpretation- just about there on pcs...but can someone explain me why Kiira has lower tech and she did a triple lutz double toe + triple loop vs triple TOE double toe + tripel lutz...quality on spirals and spins is equal....this is iffy to me...

Kiira's flying sit was shaky and it traveled a bit. I was really impressed not only with Lepistö's positions in her spins, but also the centering. I thought they were better than Kiira's and I love Kiira's skating.

I thought she had deeper edges in her spiral as well.

And I didn't hear Chris and Nicky say she should be behind Sebestyen like you said. They complimented her flow, speed and jumps, especially her triple loop.

It wasn't british eurosport...
Well, I guess each of us remains of the same opinion, and that's why figure skating is exciting...

About COP rewarding clean and easy performances you're all wrong, I'm sorry...this has been discussed over and over how Cop promotes more difficult jumps/combos/spins even with errors
(the motto being try everything you can)
But still, did you watch this seasons' competitions? Gp winning performances were almost never clean...

Well, I'm over with this discussion.
We'll see tomorrow what happens

Not necessarily. If you have lower technical difficulty but execute all the elements superbly and others mess up in their more difficult elements, the well executed ones have done pretty well (see: Lepistö and Hughes over Asada in the ladies SP at Skate Canada for example)

That Jenny Vahamaa has a lot of potential!!! I was stunned!!! Laura Lepisto was good, too, if it wasnt for her combination she'd be placin higher...

I really like Gedevanishvili. Her program had the potential to be brilliant because it was beautifully choreographed and the music suited her style. I wish she would hit those jumps though.
While Elene is among my favorite skaters, I am afraid she did her best while training with Vodorezova. She has been rather inconsistent ever since she had to leave Russia. A real shame :frown2:

Gedevanishvilli's grown so much as well, that it can't help but affect her jumps. A shame, she's such a lovely skater.

Agreed on Jenni. She's got tons of raw talent. All she needs is consistency and she'll be fighting for the medals at Europeans. Lovely technique, flexibility without being contorted, musicality, expression...
