I don't know why people are upset about the timeline between when she texted or met Orser to the time Eteri went public. This is pretty complex move with a lot of moving parts. If I was her, I'm not letting anyone know until my plans are finalized as much as possible.
1. Her first meeting is a feeler. Nothing is definitive. Brian said he had to talk to his staff and his skaters before a final approval.
2. Evgenia now has to find out and work with who at Sambo or Russfed are her allies, since she'll need them for funding. Notice how she is skating officially for Sambo not TCC. That's a political and financial necessity. I'm sure Eteri has made a few enemies so there are probably people who don't mind seeing her taken down a notch or two.
Let's look at this situation another way and put the shoe on the other foot. How much advance notice do you think Eteri gives to a skater before she expels them? Like when she expelled Alina, do you think she gave her a month notice to find a new coach, contacted other coaches on Alina's behalf, or even recommended to Alina's parents more suitable coaches. Keep in mind her skaters are kids, not adults.
I don't what Eteri actually did, but based on her past relationships and what she has said publicly, it's not hard to form an opinion.
It's easy to tell everyone your skaters are like your daughters when medals are won, what happens when the winning stops...
