So much hate to Averbukh here. I cannot stand Buttle's choreo, so I guess I should start a new hate wave against him?
I demand at least 30% of mods to be Russian on this forum and to stop this anti-Russian hate. Another 30% should be Japanese and 30% Canadian. Then US should take no more than 10%. The mods should be proportional to nation's contribution to FS.
This would stop this anti-Russian hate.

Bruh, you're not even paying for this site...

It's not even about Russian. It's about his choreo style. Why are you generalizing them together? I do like some choreo by another Russian, so does that mean I half hate half love the Russian? And FYI, dislike isn't hate. Some just prefer his style, like you, some just don't, like me. Don't spread hate word so easily.

My twopence: Averbukh's choreo is decent most of the time, but parts of it are terrible and lazy. It looks great on Evgenia because she's better than the material she's given and she makes it look good.

I actually like some of Aver's choreo. His biggest problem is how a lot of it is same-ish, especially the stuff he did for Med. Don't really mind him otherwise.

I mainly don't like the pacing of most of his programs. There's too much content and movement. While good skaters like Evgenia can execute the moves with the music, I don't get the opportunity to enjoy the positions because the choreography goes by so fast. I think Brian's team will give her programs that will broaden her fan base by better balancing content and musicality.

I can see why people would look at say Medvedeva's 16/17 season, and have criticisms relating to how many of the elements, their order, etc are the same as the prior year, but Averbukh's music choices for her have been excellent, edits and cuts, notwithstanding.

Med's FS in Boston, was one of the all time great World Championship performances. The music is stunning compliment to her superlative performance that night. Still gives me goosebumps watching it. She'll be lucky to ever again have a crowd as magnanimous and vocally supportive.

His choreo is better than it's being critiqued here, in general. It's not perfect but at least it's imaginative, fresh and interesting.

I think the best thing about Zhenya's old programs was the music. No warhorses, but innovative, contemporary, sometimes almost unknown pieces. I loved all of them, especially WE and Extremely Loud.

I may have overseen it, but was there any statement given by TAT? She seems to have quite a bit of influence in the rusfed, so I am curious. Thank you

She called Brian and he says she seems supportive of it. I am not surprised since she has a soft spot for Zhenya

This, from here
Tatiana Tarasova: Tutberidze should not have talked about Medvedeva as a traitor:

“He (Orser) is an outstanding coach, very successful in recent years. He trains Olympic champions, champions of Europe. Just like we have Tutberidze, Orser is a world-class coach. As a person who has seen a lot in my life and has gone through many things, I can say that something must have happened, since such a serious transition has occurred. I can understand the athletes, they must think about themselves. They have a short life in sports. Any outstanding coach if he takes an outstanding athlete — and Zhenya is an outstanding athlete, who was brought up Tutberidze — certainly has a serious plan for their development. I cannot understand what happened. I do not know, I can only guess, and doing so in such a situation is wrong.”

And here is another complete translation of her comments

Definitely. It's broadened my appreciation for what makes great skating music.

Fwiw - I thought the Incredibly Dull movie was lame, and zoned out the music. So hearing Medvedeva perform to it gave me a new appreciation for how the score was one of the best things about the movie.

The final cut ('Flying') of the 16/17 season FS music is remarkable, and one of Averbukh's better works of editing and choreo - timed to her 3s-3t(-3t) - is one of the musical peaks of his work. Breathtaking stuff

Yes that something that i agree with Averbukh's work. He made excellent music choices, for both programs. Just the editing of step sequence part of 9/11 that is total crap. I think that it's mostly because of music that many people can enjoy his choreos.

didnt Koola made a video using different soundtracks to Med's choreography?? crazy enough, they all fit

and is not about been russian, its about his choreos, the fact that he is russian had nothing to do with this, people were criticizing David Wilson, does that make them Canadian haters? no
