Evgenia Medvedeva

Apologies for multiple posts, but for most of us who can’t wait to see a happy Evgenia, watch this:

I hope after RusNats, she’d be so happy with the results that she wouldn’t be able to contain herself and just dance like that again :yahoo:

There are many people that comments about her, but I don't know Russian. Can someone translate this one? Just out of curiosity! If it's not allowed, I'm sorry for bringing this up

This coach, Valentin Nikolaev, basically says what's already been said. He says that her skating skills are getting better, but this often leads to losing control over your body(lost coordinaton); if your skates go faster and lighter, but your muscles still work the way they used to, then an athlet loses control, it needs time to adjust. One can jump excellently during practises, but they have their bodies under control then. However, you can't have it under control during competitions, everything shoul be done automatically. He also says that the only way to improve is to improve your skating skills. If an athlet doesn't skate well, it can be hidden for some time, but soon he will reach his limit, and that will be it. He doesn't exclude the possibility that Zhenya won't go to the EC and Worlds, but it's ok. If she is smart, she will spend this year productively. And it's certainly won't be the end of the world, she is only 19. Of course, there will be a lot of talking, she just needs to.get through this. And he also mentions Liza, how well she is doing now.

I don't care if Evgenia is on the podium or not (obviously I would prefer that) at Nationals. I want to see Evgenia feel her programs and be free. I miss seeing her having fun and acting out her programs - although its totally understandable and she is such an amazing fighter.... but that is my wish for this compeition. To see that Zhenya magic and for her to be happy!

After seeing what Liza has accomplished I'm not so worried about Zhenya anymore. Even if she doesn't get to go to EC or Worlds she will keep improving so when we get to see her again she will be 100% better.
As everyone else I just wish for her to be happy with her performance at Nationals, even if the results are not what she wants.

Last few years it was on ESPN 3. So if you have cable you can watch it on tv or ESPN app! (Thanks dad for that cable login lol)

How can she not go to euros and worlds? she's won them both the only two times she skated in them. I can only see Alina zagitova Liza Sasha and Alena possibly finishing ahead of her Nationals. Sasha and Alena will not go to Europeans or worlds because they're too young and if somehow Stasya or Gubanova or Sofia finish ahead of her at nationals I don't think they would deny Zhenya her spot especially considering all she's done for Russian ladies figure skating and even getting them in the Olympics last year it was her interview in speech to the Olympic Committee said even got Russia involved in the Winter Olympics as OAR. Next year will be different story but this year the Russian Federation will have her back. She has earned it.

You are forgetting three crucial things:

1. Zhenya‘s recent lack of consistency this season
2. Her main rival whose consistency is her greatest strength: Sofia Samodurova
3. Sofia reached the GPF, Zhenya didn‘t

If Zhenya skates like she did at France, Sofia will finish ahead of her. And how would the fed justify sending a skater solely on past merits but not recent achievements over someone who reached GPF and did well there, earning a season‘s best? I‘m Team Zhenya all the way and I‘ll root for her but I‘m just saying that at this point it‘s actually not unlikely that she won‘t go to Euros and Worlds this year. Sofia never makes mistakes and while Zhenya has a theoretical scoring potential that is way higher than Sofia, she first has to perform reasonably well. Nationals will be even more pressure than GP France. I‘m just not sure what to expect at this point so I‘ll try not to expect anything. Or rather, I try to think of the worst so that there is at least the chance of being pleasantly surprised.

Can’t wait to see evgenia at nationals. I hope she has a skate to be happy with. I am hoping missing the GPF will turn out to be a blessing in disguise and the extra training time will have helped her refocus and iron out some things in the programs.

yahoo! more sponsors It's fine to have a manager, Zhenya is literally the most popular female skater at this moment, her face in some brand should be worth $$ in the market.:yahoo:
------
I was looking at these pictures with Zhenya modeling suits to practice ( designs by Sambo 70) I love how she looks with the suit number 4, 5, 6,7, it's beautiful, the detail of the neck and back is charming. I want to see Zhenya wearing a dress with a collar and bare back next season, please!

Fair points. Evgenia no doubt would have to beat Sofia at Nationals to make the European or worlds team ahead of Sofia.
