I wouldn't make a big deal of what some idiots ask her... I don't think any normal people have any issues with her having armenian roots, it's just few idiots in media who aren't able to ask a better question. If we take a look at Eteri's group we can actually notice that they have a truly diversified group. Zhenya is half Armenian, Alina is Tatar, Eteri is Georgian, even Daniil (judging by his last name) is Jewish or German i believe?

March 3 in Moscow will host a gala show "Holiday of the Olympians. Champions - Moscow ". Evgenia Medvedeva will take part in it.

We propose to hold a small flash mob in support of Evgenia:
if you are going to attend this event and support Zhenya, take with you one (and if possible, you can and more) scarlet rose, and after the end of Eugene's skate, we all together will throw flowers on the ice.

Gleichengauz is russified germanic name Gleichenhaus, not jewish.
he is probably of german roots just like some of russia's many diverse ethnic origin, also including Alexander Enbert, Nina Mozer, Katarina Gerboldt etc.

russians aren't fixated on ones ethnic origin, In America its like everyone needs to trace their roots. It doesnt matter if your russian, jewish, caucasian, tatar, ukrainian, german.......

Thank you for that information but no one has ever done 3 world championships in a row after winning the junior World Championship. And when Peggy Fleming did it in the late 60s they're certainly wasn't the international Talent then that there is now in ladies figure skating. I think Peggy was a very beautiful skater and a very beautiful woman. I'm pretty sure Evgenia will have full focus in Milan looking for her historic hat trick.

Ok, so may be he has german roots. I don't know, i just assumed (not so knowledgeable on this topic). It doesn't matter anyway
