I thank for that sensible post. I think unlike Yagudin and Plushenko Evgenia and Alina will remain friends no matter what. I think you best point was what Zagitova and Medvedeva did for Russian sport which is so wounded due to the doping scandals and all the doping sanctions against Russian Sport. These two girls show great heart and great class especially Evgenia who helped get Russia or Olympic athletes from Russia included in the Winter Olympics. She has earned the respect of millions.

After the Sochi games in 2014 when Adelina Sotnikova was relentlessly attacked online and in the media mostly by fans of Yuna Kim I took a step back as a fan of figure skating because I couldn't believe what I was saying the 17 year old girl being attacked in vicious and vile ways online. Yes she was a controversial gold medalist and I think it was good in that case can be made that she deserves either gold or silver she did score the most points and had the most difficult program and she hit her free skate almost a hundred percent she had one bobble and skated with great speed. So the hate she got and still receives today still bothers me but I'm glad I came back to figure skating in the past few months. And as great as Zhenya is and what a great Sports woman and role model she is for Russia I am actually surprised very surprised at how much hate Evgenia receives online especially on YouTube. It blows my mind and makes me kind of sad. She has done nothing but being a great athlete and a nice person to deserve such hate from some people she gets a lot of praise and she deserves that. But the hate is very undeserved and we all realize some fans like one skater more than another that's not a big deal but I've always just cheered for the people I like and whatever happens happens. Thankfully there's a lot of people who like and even adore both Medvedeva and Zagitova and it should remain that way just as some prefer one over the other. The hate is not needed. These are great athletes not world leaders causing problems.
 
@Scott512 this is the price to pay if you are famous. The irony is the haters have made her even more popular. She should send a Thank You card to each one of them :biggrin:

Agree with her on the not listening to the music she performs too much, when you listen to a song too many times, you might get sick of it at some point xD.

It's a shame that it's too soon to have any answer about next season.

Glad to hear that she seems to be determined about getting rid of that injury as soon as possible. I'll trust her not to exacerbate it.

Also, happy to hear that she takes Quads in ladies seriously and motivated to push herself and start working, but not with a panic attitude. Unlike those haters with their "puberty" reason.

Amazing interview. Alexei Yagudin kept trying to get as Zhenya to say something about not liking Alina Zagitova or something like that but she didn't fall for it because the truth is she and Alina have a good relationship like big sister little sister whereas Alexei Yagudin and Evgeni Plushenko were not on the best of terms to say the least.

11 years with Eteri makes people mature(it is full time job and Zhenya was 7 or 8 when she started) Eteri seems to be coach who can turn people into a diamond( or ash:laugh:). I love anecdote when hockey players came to their training and said: Eteri beats them, she even beats european champion Medvedeva, she beats her hard. And girls said it to Eteri and she came into those guys dressing room and said: tell me that to my face. I guess there are many legends about Eteri.
It seems that Zhenya and Eteri are very close, it is like Gregg Popovich and Tim Duncan bond. I guess all Zhenya fp are connected with Eteri life.

Its a fascinating relationship between an awesome yet diffcult coach and the 2 best ladies figure skaters Russia has ever had who compete against each other while being best friends. I have no axe to grind. I like all of them even Eteri.
