Evgenia Medvedeva

On TSL's interview with Raf, they asked him what he thought of Zhenya's current situation based on his perspective and he was very complimentary of her. He said that she's so smart for making the decision to go to Orser and he believes that she saw that in her group she would no longer be prioritized because of upcoming talent. He said that Orser has all of the tools to encourage her and support her and it's the best decision she could've made. He said that there comes a time where for skaters it's less about everything else and most about needing support. Then TSL asked some strange question about whether she's up there/going to be up there with the "Greats" like Yuna/Michelle/Mao and Raf thought about it for a second and said that she will now have all of the tools necessary with Orser.

That's great to hear! I completely agree with him in this respect.

Just wondering if TCCC has dance facilities? It seems like Russian skaters do as much dance training as ice training. Just wondering if Zhenya will have dance training as well.

Dance exists in Toronto [emoji6]

The National Ballet of Canada is located there. As well as the company's school.

Kurt Browning took training with them, and I believe that's how he met his wife, who is a dancer.

More generally there are both western and Vaganova accredited ballet schools in the area, as well as many kinds of modern, ballroom and ethnic dance schools.

According to Lubov, what was different from Russia was that the skaters had to organize a lot of the off ice program themselves (in consultation with their coaches) rather than having a set program assigned to them.

Lubov also mentioned the training in dramatic and emotional expression which was very different in approach from what she had in Russia.

Wohoo more than 12k posts and 801 pages! :cheer:Zhenya is a hot issue, looking forward to seeing what happens when the season starts!

Back to a possible layout topic for SP.
I think she will keep her old content with 2A, 3lo, 3F3T to start with, maybe try to do 3lo3lo combo later on if it's good and stable. However, she needs 3ltz, but this most likely won't happen this seaosn, maybe next (praying to all FS gods)

Here are some possible layouts with BV (someone computed it before, feel free to correct if find any mistakes):

1) 3f3t, 2a // 3lo = 18,19

2) 2a 3lo // 3f3t = 18,65

3) 3lo3lo 2a // 3f = 18,93

4) 3ltz3t 2a // 3f = 19,23

5) 2a 3f // 3lo3lo = 19,38

6) 2a 3ltz // 3f3t = 19,65

7) 3ltz3lo 2a // 2f = 19,93

8) 3ltz 2a // 3f3lo = 20,42

I also think she might go for option 2 and move combo in 2d half, she can do it (if she is in good shape). At first I also was thinking it's too risky but she has to risk now as she does not have 3ltz and actually she has nothing to lose...

Anyone else going crazy with the lack of news? Even the ladybug disappeared... :(
Yes... 😭
I think we've been really spoiled this off-season with so much Zhenya content.
Still, I wouldn't mind if she showed us a little bit of her new programms. Even if it's just 2 seconds.

She’s done a really impressive job of giving us lots of content related to Canada and exploring Toronto whilst also not giving away any information to do with her programs or how her skating has changed and improved since her ice shows in July.

I'm thinking that Zhenya's discretion is critical/essential.

Her federation has enabled her to do something exceptional in moving to train.

It will be important for officials in Russia to get the information directly from Zhenya and her coaches and see for themselves at the test skates.

After all they can't easily drop in to do monitoring.

Can you imagine the amount of analysis on here we would do on 2 seconds? [emoji23]

well she usually doesn't post videos of her programs and always saves her dress till the last min (competition warm up) so tbh not that surprised!

After seeing Jason and Gabby’s hair changes, I wonder...will we be seeing something like that from Zhenya soon? ;) I hope so, even though she already has such beautiful hair~

I would be shocked if she did something drastic with her hair. It’s nice to play around but sometimes your natural hair color looks the best. If I were to change her hair color, I would make it really subtle with some balayage in the front and throughout and I wouldn’t go lighter than ash brown though. Gabby’s hair looks gorgeous but think about the maintenance!!!

IIRC Yulia is now a blonde and I didn’t think it would look good on her but I really like it

On the website RusFed confirmed the participation of Zhenya in open skate on 9 September in Moscow.

At first, I didn’t think it was wise for Zhenya to attend the test skate. The drama of encountering her old teammates and coach and facing a potentially critical media could be overwhelming.

Now I think it’s wise that she’s going back for the first time in a non-competitive event.
