Evgenia Medvedeva

I think it's perfectly good for Zhenya. She has played many matured characters before, like Anna Karina, so that bit more sophistication, mysteriousness, and sensitivity should work well with her. Even if the character is partially the antagonist.
She did play Sailor moon when she was at a younger age. She doesn't need to play that innocent little girl anymore at age 19.
We can leave the innocent nice girl character to the 16 year old girl who cries after falling on jumps in a test skate.

Sorry, I guess my post was vague: I was a little sad because Madoka Magica is a sad show. I think Homura suits Zhenya fine.

Sorry but your comment is quite rude and inappropriate. Comments like yours fuel the tension between fans and this reflects on both athletes' performances. Exactly that we saw last weekend.

I see potential in Evgenia's short, I am not convinced about the free yet but it will definitely be interesting to follow the development throughout the season.

Come on, that was seriously unnecessary. There's absolutely no need to make comments like this about Alina. We can support Zhenya without being disrespectful towards her opponents.

Besides, the person you're quoting isn't sad about the character Zhenya got at all.

Agree completely.

It’s an ad, who cares if the character fits them or not to be honest. Also there’s no need for comments like that (you last sentence) here.

I do apologize if my comment has caused people discomfort. I was just trying to say that Alina's fitting that character more because she seems to have less control over her emotion in that way and thus is showing a child-like innocence.
But since it's quoted by the above posts, I am not gonna edit it out at this moment.

i'm pretty sure they just chose characters based on looks :) Like if you straighten zhenya's hair and bangs, i think she'll look exactly like her character

How come i can't even run away from other threads to hide quietly in the fanfests without finding that people are talking crap there too? :palmf:

Well if you want drama, Averbukh about Zhenya's improvements: he's saying 90% of what Zhenya has today is coming from Eteri not Orser
https://www.sovsport.ru/others/figure/articles/1073363-ilja-averbuh-kanadskij-trener-dolzhen-blagodarit-tutberidze-za-takuju-medvedevu

I mean it's not untrue that Zhenya has learned a great deal from Eteri, she's made her 2x worlds, grand prix champion after all but yikes can he just act like an adult :drama:? wasn't he saying he's waiting to see if team TCC could create great programs for Zhenya like he did? he must be so salty that most people have praised her programs (at least her SP got nothing but positive reviews from what i've seen :agree:)

Google translated version of his interview

"It's nice that Zhenya is in good shape, she has a synergy with the new coach. I am sure that Zagitova will not give up her position either. The main thing is that these are two Russian girls. God grant that no one interfered in this fight.

There is a tendency in the world, that everything is authoritarian in Russia, and nobody gives a word to anyone. I am the director of three programs of Zhenya. We consulted, we chose music together, we discussed the nuances a hundred times. Zhenya skated, improvised, shared her opinion. And it's funny when a Canadian says that.

It is more correct to always say: "Thank you." 90 percent of what other coach Medvedeva now uses came from Russia - from Eteri Tutberidze. Any interview should start with the words: "Thank you, Eteri, for the beautiful girl! I'm happy that I can reveal her talent further! "

He does have nice words for Zhenya as usual but he cannot seem to get over the comments Orser made earlier this year about her not having freedom to chose her music & choreo

At least I can agree with him that all of this is a totally unnecessary drama that shouldn't be continued further. And I like that he always has nice things to say about Zhenya. Apart from that... yeah, people around Brian are being clearly very hyperbolic about anything Eteri (looking at you, TSL and Doug) and people around Eteri, like Aver here, are acting like all and any misgivings about Eteri's coaching style are just Canadians bullying Russians. And I just hope that we won't be hearing this back and forth all season long. But we probably will...

Also, sorry, I'm not meaning to drag this out, but Madoka is pretty badass. She ends up becoming an omniscient god-being that eternally takes on other people's despair in order to save the world.

:scratch2: Eteri guided Zhenya for many years, but isn't her success due to her own years of hard work and dedication? I guess Zhenya would not have been able to achieve what she has without Eteri, but to me it seems like it would be more like 40-50%? Seems Averbukh is... just kind of salty...

Okay I've just spent 15 minutes scrolling through Liza's twitter... She's a gift.

It's not the business of randoms on the internet to comment on the weight of skaters. If someone seemed to be losing a lot of weight, it's okay to worry, but other than that, I don't think there's any need. This is disgusting to me, honestly.

Agreed. Saying someone is too skinny or is too heave are both very harming to one's mind, especially to a child.
