Evgenia Medvedeva

I don't know if anyone has posted this interview here yet. https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=76&v=qBwLIH5WFYM

"I feel so excited for the next few years of skating. And by few I mean long." :laugh2:

Her English is improving in leaps and bounds, but all of her interviews are so enjoyable to watch. I feel like she just says what comes to mind, and next moment, realizes, I shouldn't have said that, let's try that again.

I just watched it. She's so adorable. I am so happy that she is happy. After the Olympics she looked so sad and utterly exhausted. I wanted her to get a new coach, because change is good. :)

well, her hips are now wider than her knees... WHICH IS A GOOD THING! It's supposed to be that way. You need muscles to jump. Sure, as a child, you are just spidery and are arms and legs... but then it starts to change.

She moved from Eteri "Julia is so great, she eats just protein shakes" and "close your mouth and not eat" (which Alina parroted before her big flop on worlds) and not eating after 6 PM while maniacally training to... eating sufficient diet for hard core training.

She probably changed her diet to prevent more stress fractures too.

she looked scary thin at Olympics, tbh.

I think they changed her Anna Karenia dress for the Olympics to hide her thinness. I'm glad that she is gaining muscles. She needs strength to not muscle her jumps. Plus if you look at her FS at the 2017 worlds her legs were very muscular and at the Olympics they were very very thin.

Zhenya is charming and completely adorable.

They changed her costume because Eteri didn't like the black Anna Karenia costume because people might associate it with the time Evgenia was injured (wherein she had tapes on her legs). Saw this in the latest documentary of Evgenia.

I’m trying not to fight someone on YouTube regarding Evgenia just because they are baiting me. It’s not even the OP nor is it on topic.

I just hate knowing that they feel smug getting in the last word but when they go low, we go high!

It always surprises me that many people care for those whom they'll never meet and whose mind they'd never change. Even if I respond to such people, it's not them for whom I really write the message, but the other people who will read it. But often the best message is to ignore such a comment, let it stay on the top so that everyone would see the commenter's stupidity. :)

She jumped for a month with a foot injury. The body feels pain and begins to take care - weaker push, longer pause.

Guys, let this discussion about Zhenya's programs and technical stuff continue in a month. (Let's start again after SCI). Both her SP and FS will be more ready by that time as well as Zhenya. I think it's too early to judge that now. (Other skaters have had like 1,5 - 2 more months than Evgenia to get ready for competing.) I know that everything will be good, just give her some time.

Now let's get this Fanfest positive again!

And today is Tracy's birtday! :hb:

ugh now i'm worried about SCI cause she has a lot of strong competition

Well the only strong competition is Tuktamysheva im my opinion, but if Zhenya skates clean she should not have trouble getting high PCs again and beating her. The only reason she and also Yuzuru even got such low PCs is because there is a new ISU rule that says skaters are not allowed to get 9.00-10.00 in PCs if they fall or do a big mistake. So if she skates clean her PCs will be rocket high again and by far higher than Tuktamysheva's.

I actually think France will be a much stronger field.

I agree with this. Hoping her program would be more polished by then.

I am planning on watching SCI - just trying to see if there are any decent seats left.

Does anyone know of another link to the Evgenia documentary? I can’t access the VK link because I don’t have an account and don’t want to sign up. The Tapatalk video subtitles don’t work for me.

If not I will create a throwaway email for VK

How did this Fan Fest go from over 1,200 pages to only 452? Is this the new math? Talk about trimming the fat from the pork wow.

New number of comments per one page. From 10 to 30 (recently it was from 15 to 10). The less was better IMO, if they want a feedback.

I've just seen the interview with Ted Flett and I was thinking that I OMG, Evgenia seems so well-put together. She is so gracious but at the same time you can see the fire and the feisty quality in her. I really like the approach of how she is looking at this season and how she is planning her season looking at small goals for the longer term.
