Okay. Grand Prix Final qualification is like this: Depending on their placement, each skater earns a certain number of points. After all the GPs, the six skaters with the most points will advance to the GPF. Looking at last year's GPF, Zhenya probably needs 23-25 points minimum. That means barring a withdrawal and her getting moved up, she must get 3rd here and then win GP France.

It's a tight situation, but I think she may be able to do it.

I am so sad for Zhenya. That was a costly mistake. I hope that she will have a clean FS and can make up for that. Brian and Zhenya were so shocked

No miracle is needed. There's 'only' 6 points difference between Zhenya (7th) and 2nd place. She will have to dig deep but it's certainly not impossible.

True. We are also assuming everyone will skate clean. She needs to skate clean though.

What an annoying mistake! BUT Lutz was much better and axel was much better. She’s been out of elite competition for 8 months, she’s had one hell of a summer. As my wise Mama said, a clean Tursynbaeva was only marginally better than a not-great Zhenya. What does that say?

We all knew this was going to be a tough season. I know we all wanted her to burst back on and wipe the floor with everyone but it doesn’t work like that. Don’t worry, she’ll be back!

True....still as fans we are heartbroken . But better here than at some major comp

Outstanding performance in FS tomorrow could save a sliver/bronze in this station. Still have chance to qualifiy to GPF if she can win in France. Just look forward and be positive, at least we can see that Zhenya can face the failure with a relaxed mood. As a girl who never fail in GP before, her performance in handling the pressure is good.

places 2-7 are all within 6 points of each other so it's totally doable in the FS!!

maybe she is angry at her self too. anger is good sometimes and can make you fight for something harder (at least that's what I see in other sportspeople). let's also hope people make mistakes tomorrow (I know that is mean but I can't help myself)

She got the highest PCS. Her score would have been really high if she didn’t make that mistake. This gives me hope for tomorrow. She’s never been in this position, but I think she can rise up to the challenge.

I distracted myself a moment by looking things up, but my stomach dropped when Zhenya missed her triple toe. Oh god... Her program was so very good otherwise, but in the replay I saw: her legs were coming apart in the air during her triple flip.

I said before that I wasn't in love with Zhenya's programs yet, but she improved her emotion in the short so much. If she has improved her free as well and skates mostly clean, I think she can make up the difference for 3rd. All the skaters ahead of Zhenya were clean or had one to two errors. Zhenya has the ability to do this and I believe in her.
