Evgenia Medvedeva

In the same topic, though off topic for this thread, if there's anyone vegan here, maybe message me. I would like to at least try it, but it's a very tough mental struggle for me right now, so maybe you'll give me ideas and/or support ;)

Honestly I cannot wait to see the dress Evgenia gets for her new FS. I imagine something white, pink, purpely, maybe cherry blossoms on it. I hope ladudesign makes the dress again. The dresses for Tosca and Libertango were amazing. Even the British Eurosport commentators said they love the FS costume.

Love your new Avatar. :)

There's a great long interview. Don't have time to provide a summary, but I'm sure someone will translate it soon. She speaks very highly of her coaching team, very heartwarming. Also says that she works with a dietary expert that Brian found for her 👍 there's a lot of talk about her eating habits and how she changed them.

wow, that’s...a lot of upsetting stuff, honestly. the stuff about last year and her struggles with food and her weight. just really hit me. it’s always been discussed and speculated on but for her to say it so directly is....a lot. i’m really proud of her for being able to talk about it and i’m so relieved things are starting to look up for her both mentally and physically.

Oh... wow. She‘s being honest, I‘m proud of that. And the things she says won‘t be liked by some people but need to be mentioned at the same time. I knew she wasn‘t looking healthy last year, apart from the injury in her foot, and this confirms it. Being so thin that the body retains water? Not having a system, being afraid to eat, sometimes only having one small chocolate bar a day??

“When you keep yourself on a very rigid diet for many years, and in fact you live half starving, you need time to understand: if there is food in the refrigerator, you don’t have to cram it all at once. It is not going anywhere from this refrigerator.“

This scares me. Like, it seriously does. I‘m glad she‘s openly talking about it and raising awareness because such methods should never exist and yet they still do in some places! It does not work to try to starve yourself to keep your thin body all the way through puberty. This is insane!

I‘m glad Orser found a nutritionist for her. She‘s still obviously in the progress of finding a diet that suits her and her body but she‘s actively caring for it and is helped by a professional. That‘s so important and I‘m beyond relieved that she‘s now in an environment where you‘re taught that the most important thing is to be healthy and starving is not the way to go.

About the vegan thing: Well, she‘s keeping it in perspective and makes sure to get everything her body needs. She also said she isn‘t too strict, she bakes cookies and sometimes uses dairy products. But overall, she seems to want to get a very muscular, strong body with low fat percentage. It worked for Meagan Duhamel, so I hope the two of them have a conversation once and talk about this. I‘m not an expert on dieting and I don‘t know a whole lot about being vegan, so I won‘t comment further. I‘m reassured because she‘s getting help.

Just: Thanks Zhenya for making this step. And thank you Team TCC for caring.
