- Did you expect such a return from Evgenia Medvedeva ?
I waited for this moment all season, waited for such a performance! Because I believed in Zhenka. And I continue to believe that everything will be fine. We saw each other before the final of the Russian Cup, when she was preparing in Petersburg. She really became different. More mature, freer in emotions. Before that, she was tense. As in war, you know. In general, I notice that many skaters are now becoming more relaxed in communication.

But the GOE potential is there. If she stabilized her flip-toe combo, maybe for the free, she can pull off a 3Sal-3loop, 3-flip-3toe and a 2A-3toe-2toe? If not a 2a-eu-3Sal.

4sal will of course be a game changer for her. So there’s plenty to anticipate.

Is that why it was deleted?

No one can control what someone writes or says. This hate filled letter to Zhenya or an alleged Alina fan saying something terrible about Trankovs daughter sadly cannot be stopped. We are living in a very odd time when people can hurt others easily through social media.

I don‘t think it did. It seems like Zhenya‘s friends were more shocked than she herself was, which is sad because it shows just how much she‘s had to deal with in the past year. But if anything, I think the only thing the letter did ultimately, was make her colleagues surround her and protect her. Look at Johnny and Miki and the singer she collaborated with. Johnny is raising awareness on social media, Miki is calling her Japanese fans to show love for Zhenya and May J. made a public declaration during the show, telling Zhenya that she was loved by Japan and the audience supported this. I think while the letter in itself was dreadful and the person who did this should be punished, it‘s also beautiful to see how quickly fans and other skaters rally to be there for her.

It didnt. The focus was on Yuzuru getting back his 4 Lutz after getting injured jumping it before Olympics.

In any case, Evgenia has had worse hater comments when she 1st switched to Orser. People were calling her traitor & all that.
 
So in one of Liza’s recent instagram stories where a group of them are out to dinner, is that Zhenya sitting next to Alina? I can’t really tell. The girl is partially covering her face. But the ponytail looks like how Zhenya could wear her hair.
